IntelliCulture
Inteligistics, which has built a suite of smart digital products to monitor and improve efficiency for logistics, supply chain and cold chain management for companies producing and selling perishable products, has now brought their technology solutions to bear on a common chokepoint in cold storage facility operations. The problem is exacerbated by the current shortage of truck drivers and the regulatory limitations on how many hours drivers can work. In response, Inteligistics has just released a new field truck monitoring system, InteliField, that combines wireless sensors, IoT Smart Hubs, data aggregation and simple dashboard reporting to give yard and facility managers real-time visibility to field truck status, product information, and location. Combined with InteliDock, access to this information limits truck wait times, reduces yard traffic, limits bottlenecks, and gets fresh, perishable products out of the heat and into the cooler and beyond faster. These solutions provide the bookends to digitizing the grower/shipper’s supply chain, thus creating opportunity to realize tremendous benefits related to digitization of supply chain and digital transformation. IntelliCulture provides equipment management software for farms. The company installs its plug and play GPS devices into farm machinery to then provide insights into spray coverage, equipment health and labor management. ShopView is the machine management view, which alerts the user about machine issues and automates maintenance planning, minimizing and preventing downtime in the fleet. CropView keeps track of jobs on the farm and digitizes task planning and warns of overdue or inefficient work, ensuring optimized use of labor and proper spray coverage. CabView is a mobile app that operators use to prevent pest and mildew outbreaks on the vineyard through real- time spray visualization. The company has hired five staff members in the last few months to keep up with demand, and has onboarded a number of vineyard management companies to the platform. These solutions tackle farm worker shortage, reduce the strenuous physical workload and limit the use of chemical in the fields. The company has its U.S. headquarters in Salinas, Calif., and has been operating agricultural robots in North America since 2019, addressing both vegetable and vineyards markets. The Naïo fleet of robots addresses all agricultural markets and crops, from large scale vegetable production to vineyards, arable crops and smaller farms. The newest machine, named Orio, is a multi-task farming robot, able to seed, cultivate and weed on the row. High accuracy seeding is an additional service Orio can provide to the growers allowing enhanced results when combined with weeding. The company now has more than 300 robots circulating worldwide and 100,000 hours of work carried out under real field conditions, Naïo Technologies is in the process of making its fleet of agricultural robots totally autonomous in the field. LahakX, the spraying drone swarming and spot-spraying pioneer, recently completed its Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) regulatory requirements. With its new certification, LahakX can provide services to leafy green vegetables and strawberry growers in Central California. “LahakX has been working with the FAA for two years to complete the regulatory process. We are excited to begin spraying operations and appreciate the complexity and thoroughness of the FAA throughout the certification phase. The extremely limited number of companies approved by the FAA to perform agricultural drone operations uniquely positions LahakX to immediately begin serving the industry,” said Dave Woodland, Vice President of Operations at LahakX. “The global agricultural drone market is expected to reach $5.89 billion by 2030, and we are looking forward to growing with the industry and providing valuable drone services to our partners.”
