The Abu Dhabi Heritage Authority’s key roles and responsibilities include developing strategies to preserve and raise awareness of Emirati heritage and traditions; promoting traditional and national identity values within society; documenting heritage practices; and conducting studies and research on literature and traditions, in line with Abu Dhabi’s strategy for cultural heritage. Additionally, the Authority works to promote awareness about UAE’s traditions and heritage. The Authority also oversees the management and organization of festivals, exhibitions, and heritage programs inside and outside the emirate through coordination with relevant stakeholders. Additionally, it supports, fosters, and documents Nabati and classical Arabic poetry initiatives. The Authority also evaluates historical studies and publications that delve into the oral history of the emirate, its spoken dialects, as well as poems, written, visual, and audio materials pertaining to the UAE and its leadership.
