Once cooked, the discs are broken by hand into small pieces and then pounded in a mortar until they become a coarse mixture. Local ghee is added to enhance the flavor and texture of the final deconstructed mixture. 4. Chabab : This is a type of Emirati pancake made from white flour and traditional Arabic ingredients such as cardamom and saffron. It is easy to prepare, requiring no oven baking but cooked in a pan instead. Chabab can be served with various accompaniments such as cheese, cream, date syrup, tahini, and more, according to preference. 5. Tharid: A traditional dish consisting of a wafer-thin bread (Regag) that is dipped in meat or chicken broth. The bread is cut into small pieces and placed in a deep bowl, then the broth is poured over it and stirred. Finally, meat or chicken is added to the mixture before serving. 6. Balaleet: A popular dish consisting mainly of vermicelli, cardamom, saffron, and sugar. It is usually served with fried eggs and can be enjoyed for breakfast, dinner, or as a dessert during the month of Ramadan. It is often garnished with nuts, coriander or dried fruits.
