Emirati Folklore Folk arts constitute a vital component of the UAE’s ancient intangible heritage, blending various forms of visual and performing arts. They are accompanied by unique musical melodies and rhythms played on traditional instruments, along with folk and national songs that reflect societal identity and interaction with the environment. These arts vary depending on the occasion, with some performed during social events like weddings and holidays, and others reserved for national and VIP receptions and celebrations. Among the most prominent Emirati folk arts are: Ayyala (sea-land chants), Al-Azi, Al-Nahma, Al-Bahriya, Al-Ahala, Al-Jalsa Al-Shaabiya, Al-Liwa, Al-Habban, Al-Harbiya, Al-Razfa, Al-Mankous, Al-Radh, Al-Wannah, Al- Taghrooda, Al-Hida’a.
