Russell : légère augmentation des taxes
dernier budget. «C’est la première fois que nous adoptons le budget à l’unanimité», a déclaré le maire Jean-Paul St. Pierre, situation qu’il a at- tribuée à l’excellent travail du personnel. Les opérations représentent 1,55% de l’augmentation d’impôt foncier projetée, tandis que 0,93% de l’augmentation est attribuable aux travaux d’immobilisations. Pour une maison évaluée en moyenne à 271 999$, l’augmentation sera de 37,51$. Pour chaque tranche de 100 000$ d’évaluation, cette augmentation sera de 13,79$. Pour les commerces et autres types de propriétés, les montants diffèrent. Le budget comprend également une augmentation combinée du taux d’eau et d’égouts qui sera facturée aux usagers de ces services. Un usager utilisant 275 m3 d’eau par année, par exemple, verra sa fac- ture augmenter de 28,18$.

After talking to the driver and then running a computer background check, police arrested Fawaz Abdul- lah, 24, and Hussein Mohammed, 27, both of Ottawa on several charges under the Criminal Code and federal narcotics act. Abdullah is charged with failure to attend court when ordered while Mohammed is charged with cocaine possession. A 17-year-old youth was arrested in Limoges Nov. 18 after police received a call about a suspected drug situa- tion. The youth, whose name is withheld under the terms of the Young Crimi- nal Justice Act, is charged with nar- cotics possession and with failure to comply with a judicial disposition or- der. He will appear in provincial youth court in L’Orignal on Dec. 18.
