HOUSING AFFORDABILITY PLAN | Town of Wake Forest
Strategy 2: Create New Affordable Rental Housing
Public Housing Redevelopment
Program Overview The Town can commit to working with the Wake County Housing Authority on its long-term plan to redevelop or rehabilitate three public housing sites in Wake Forest, while preserving affordability. How Does it Work? Public housing is one of the primary ways to provide rental homes affordable to households making 30% AMI or lower. Reinvestment in public housing is a complex process that requires many years to plan and execute. The Housing Authority will ultimately decide on a program for redevelopment or rehabilitation, and the Town can help facilitate the process with resident priorities in mind.
