Taking pride of place as CEF’s second branch in Ireland, Letterkenny opened on April 3, 2005. While the 3800sqft branch hasn’t altered much in size with just a few layout tweaks, its product range has changed substantially to meet evolving customer demands. Lighting, from domestic lamps to flood lighting for sports pitches, has moved to LED, and demand is steadily rising for EV chargers and solar panels
for both domestic and commercial installations. Serving electrical contractors, factories, call centres, hardware stores, farms, hospitality and leisure, local authorities and the public, CEF Letterkenny offers lighting surveys and solar panel quotes. Seven staff offer experience ranging from 5 to 35 years, with Manager Gary Cole at the branch since its opening. The team also includes Accounts
Manager Lee Forester and Assistant Manager Patrick Gallagher. With two vans on the road daily, most of Co Donegal is covered, and customers on the move can easily call into another branch in the network with all purchases priced back to their local branch. Set to celebrate its 20th anniversary next year, CEF Limerick opened in July 2006, and has since expanded its team from five to eight staff members. The branch now holds €600,000 of stock totalling 4,526 lines from leading brands such as Hager, Garo, M2, Click, Tamlite, Excel and Ansell. Brendan Heffernan, Branch Manager, said, “Over the years, we’ve established ourselves in the industry in Limerick and surrounding areas, putting a big
emphasis on customer service and have very good stock holding, majoring on containment and cable. “Having 17 branches in Ireland helps massively with stock availability, customer service and expertise country wide. Solar and renewables have become a big part of our stock profile including full solar installs, back-up batteries and EV chargers.” Alongside Brendan, the team extends to Assistant Manager Tony O’Leary and
Account Manager Ger Kenny, with William O’Connell recently joining as a second account manager. Store assistants and van drivers include Michael O’Brien, James Fitzgerald, Stephen Hanley, and Robbie Quirke, with the team offering combined industry experience of 90 years.
