LARCHFIELD ESTATE, LISBURN Beacon Fire & Security has recently completed the installation of a comprehensive suite of security solutions at the new Think Storage facility located on the prestigious Larchfield Estate. Think Storage is Northern Ireland’s first carbon- negative self-storage facility, located off the Bailliesmills Road near Lisburn. The facility is set to offer advanced, tailored storage solutions, powered by cutting-edge international access control technology, ensuring both security and convenience for its users.
RADIUS HOUSING, NEWCASTLE A major security system has been installed in a landmark social housing project by Radius Housing in Newcastle, Co Down. The newly-developed site is equipped with a fully integrated security system, designed to deliver maximum safety and convenience. It features a comprehensive video/audio intercom, advanced access control and a range of intuitive entry options. Residents and authorised personnel can gain access via key fobs, timed trade codes or general access codes, ensuring flexible yet secure entry management.

Prioritising team development The past year has marked a period of significant growth for Beacon Fire & Security, with the team going from strength to strength across all areas of the business. Thanks to the new Experienced Worker Route, Director Greg Smylie and Operations Manager Neil Magowan have both achieved their Level 3 Certification, earning the prestigious ECS Gold Card. Among the standout highlights of last season, apprentice James not only secured his ECS Gold Card, but was also honoured as Fire Apprentice of the Year at his graduation ceremony, an exceptional achievement. This season, junior technician Owen has proudly represented Northern Ireland at various competitions, both locally and at a prestigious event in Birmingham, alongside fellow apprentices from South Eastern Regional College (SERC). Beacon remains committed to its strong partnership with SERC, which continues to play a pivotal role in developing the next generation of talent. With two more Beacon engineers set to graduate this June, the future of the sector - and its team - has never looked brighter.

COMMERCIAL OFFICE SPACE, BELFAST An advanced turnstile access control system has been delivered in partnership with a leading supplier in a large commercial office block. Engineered for performance and precision, the new turnstiles operate in under half a second, allowing free egress, while effectively restricting unauthorised entry. These systems help clients avoid the potential for lockdown scenarios, which can be disruptive and commercially damaging. Businesses can now reduce costly, unproductive downtime while maintaining a secure, streamlined flow of personnel.
GILFORD CASTLE, CO ARMAGH A cutting-edge fire alarm system has been installed at the historic Gilford Castle in Co Armagh. Originally built over 150 years ago, this landmark now benefits from the very latest in fire protection technology. The newly-implemented system not only provides robust protection for the property but is also fully flexible and scalable designed to accommodate future upgrades with ease. This future-ready approach ensures that Gilford Castle’s fire safety infrastructure will continue to meet the evolving needs of this heritage site for years to come.
