EMPLOYMENT MINISTER ALAN DILLON AND ENTERPRISE IRELAND CEO DESIGNATE JENNY MELIA ATTENDED AN ANNOUNCEMENT OF THE ELECTRICAL AND MAINTENANCE SECTOR JOB CREATION… Griffdon Engineering to create 48 new jobs in Ballaghaderreen

Family business Griffdon Engineering is to create 48 new jobs at its headquarters in Ballaghaderreen, Co Roscommon. The announcement was made at an event at its offices on June 9, attended by Employment Minister Alan Dillon and Enterprise Ireland CEO Designate Jenny Melia. The jobs creation is being supported by Enterprise Ireland’s Company Development Fund. Future Cast, a not-for- profit centre for innovation, education and R&D for the construction, manufacturing and quarrying industries based in Manorhamilton, Co Leitrim, helped to secure the funding. The company’s growth will boost local employment as well as enhance skills in the electrical service and maintenance sector. Griffdon Engineering already employs 350

people, and also provides services to the semiconductor, pharmaceutical and oil, gas and renewable energy sectors, as well as ICT firms involved in data centre construction. Griffdon Engineering is led by Managing Director Seamus Griffin and EHS Director Elayne Griffin, the son and daughter of company founders Martin and Mary Griffin. “On behalf of everyone at Griffdon Engineering, I want to express my sincere gratitude to Enterprise Ireland for their invaluable support and funding, which has played a pivotal role in helping us reach this important milestone in our company’s growth,” said Seamus. “Its commitment to fostering innovation and strengthening Irish enterprise has empowered businesses like ours to

invest with confidence, create high- quality employment, and contribute meaningfully to our regional and national economy.
