NORTHERN IRELAND’S ELECTRICAL INDUSTRY TURNED OUT FOR AN INCREDIBLE DAY OF FOOTBALL AND
FUNDRAISING AT CRUSADERS FC’S
Twelve football teams battled it out under the sun to raise funds for the Electrical Industries Charity (EIC) at the NI Electrical Industries Charity Shield in Crusaders FC’s Seaview Stadium, Belfast on May 16. More than 200 people attended the fun tournament, which raised £14,000 for the charity and was won by a team from ICSS sponsored by Derrywood. Electrical wholesalers and contractors playing in the tournament tried to keep their cool as the temperature hit 22°C. Each team played three games, leading up to a thrilling Super Sixes play-off and finals for both the trophy and shield. Second place went to the XCITE Reds featuring players from City Electrical Factors, while The Glen Dimplexes with players from EEL Greentech came in third. Electrical industry stakeholders supported the event, sponsoring individual teams and donating pitch time (WS Mercer Belfast), refreshments (Aico), goodie bags (Ansell), post-game drinks (Edmundson’s Electrical) and photography and videography (Ireland’s Electrical Magazine). All proceeds from the day go to EIC, which provides financial assistance, emotional support and invaluable resources to those in need within the electrical industry. www.electricalcharity.org SEAVIEW STADIUM IN BELFAST ON MAY 16… NI Electrical Industries Charity Shield raises £14,000 for EIC
