Description: This is a multi-subject unit study designed to promote a joy for learning as a family. There is an engaging LIVE class week- ly. A weekly checklist of activities and assignments and a timeline template is provided as well as a suggested daily schedule for the four-day school week. The units follow a four-year history sequence using Phillip Campbell’s Story of Civilization series. You can join us anywhere in the sequence (the courses do not have to be taken in order). Creative Writing for Grades 3-6, Writing About a Historical Event
Teacher: Mandi Gette Semester: Fall Day and Time (EST): Thursdays, 10:00 AM Dates: September 19 to October 24 Class Duration: 30 min Recommended Grade Range: 3rd - 6th
Description: Learn how to write an historical fiction story! The instructor will coach students through a process for writing a story based on an historical event. Character development, setting, con- flict and resolution, and grammar will be topics of instruction. Stu- dents will produce a polished story as an end project for the course. As a bonus, students will be instructed on how to self-publish their story in book form, so they can add it to the family library or gift it to someone.
