The surprising flavour of seaweed soup, the sharp sound of a knife slicing cucumber, the hiss and sizzle of mushrooms on a scorching fire. Welcome to a pojangmacha , a typical late-night South Korean snack bar. Here you’ll meet Jaha Koo and join him, a snail, a gummy bear and an eel as they explore migration, home and the healing power of food. In a series of intimate, absurdist anecdotes, Koo recounts the evolution of kimchi culture, the bitter pain of unadulterated racism, the shame of trying to blend in and the deep umami taste of home. Combining music, cutting-edge video and robotic performers paired with cozy chatter and a culinary journey, Haribo Kimchi is a heart-warming performance that plays with all the senses.

Something is happening to people. Large pockets of society are refusing to participate in a broken system. Is another world possible? Playful and provocative, the booster protocol is part performance, part role playing adventure where time and space bend, blur and distort. Join pvi collective, creators of subversive performances and interventions, for some serious play in this street-based adventure through the Boorloo cityscape. Wearing an audio device and carrying a portable screen you’ll be guided by voices from around the world as you uncover what it takes to lean in and push back. The future is calling – will you answer?
