POV
AUSTRALIA
WA WORLD PREMIERE
Two unrehearsed actors and one camera-wielding kid. A live docu-drama that crackles with wit and energy. Eleven-year-old Bub is obsessed with documentary filmmaking. In the aftermath of her family breakdown, she turns to dramatised re-enactments to get to the truth. Each night two unrehearsed actors play her parents while Bub directs the action. The script is playful, heartfelt and funny. But the picture shifts with the whims of human impulse as the two actors respond live and unprepared. Bub wants to get to the bottom of her mum’s erratic behaviour. Can these two adults really answer the tough questions of a child? POV by re:group is a daring and inventive piece of live theatre that turns the idea of storytelling on its head.
Adam Kelly likes dragons! He’s been writing, talking and performing about dragons for years. Now he’s noticed everyone seems to be talking about and using AI. Should he? What if he could use Dragon I … In this world premiere, created by Adam Kelly, James Berlyn and Ben Hollingsworth (aka Neuro Bureau), Adam uses his dragon world to debate: to AI or not to AI? Using theatre, animation and music, he explores the moral, artistic, neurodiverse and environmental implications of the AI juggernaut for a neurodivergent writer performer like himself.
