The University of Western Australia The University of Western Australia is proud to be the founder of Perth Festival and to continue to be a supporter for more than 70 years. From its beginnings on our Crawley campus, the Festival has grown into one of the nation’s most significant cultural celebrations, enriching the life of our communities, State and beyond. UWA shares with the Festival a commitment to creativity, diversity and discovery, and this partnership creates opportunities for students, researchers, artists and audiences to engage with bold performances and ideas that inspire curiosity and conversation. We are excited for the 2026 program and are delighted to be hosting the Lotterywest Films program under the stars at the Somerville Auditorium – a place where world cinema meets community in a uniquely Perth setting.

WA is the envy of the nation – and for good reason. Our strong economy and world-leading resources sector provide quality jobs and helps us support a thriving and inclusive community. To ensure our economy remains the strongest in the nation, the WA Government is committed to fostering a vibrant and creative State. Perth Festival plays a vital role in this vision – which is why we are proud to again support the Festival through Lotterywest. As a highlight of WA’s event calendar, it brings together global artists, local talent and the spirit of our city – making it a unique event found only in Perth. I’m thrilled to see the return of Perth Festival to East Perth Power Station this year – a special hub to meet friends, listen to music, enjoy good food and be inspired by Indigenous art. Enjoy!
