T he military lifestyle is one that comes with its own set of unique challenges. Service members and their families face frequent moves, deployments, career transitions and being away from loved ones. AACPL recognizes these complexities and has created a Military Family Resource Center at Severn Library providing resources that can help. The resource center offers valuable support and assistance to service members, veterans and their families. A variety of resources tailored to the needs of military families are available including career help for service members, financial aid and benefit handbooks for veterans, guides for military spouses and picture books on themes of the unique challenges military children face. Service members will also find reserved parking for veterans at most libraries, CAC Readers for in-library use at Maryland City at Russett, Severn and Odenton libraries and access to free gun safety locks at all 15 open branches. You can learn more about all the special services for veterans, active-duty military service members and their families on our website at aacpl.net/military .
