Accountable for the direct delivery of projects and to ensure these projects are managed in accordance with a structured whole life- cycle project process. Act as a central point of information for oversight of estates projects, including developing and maintaining an asset management plan on a 1yr, 5yr, 10yr plan aligned with the Infrastructure Strategy, condition survey data, and demands of the School estate. Ensure that post project evaluations are undertaken which would include contractor evaluations and ensure that opportunities for improvement are identified and implemented for future project delivery. Support the Estates team by providing technical and operational advice and ensure that all members of the team maintain a consistent and technically sound approach to maintaining and improving the School estate. From initial design consider and deliver the requirements for the handover of a completed project to the wider Estates Team and CAFM system. Work with the Estates team to ensure that all works completed by Uppingham School Estates (including maintenance, grounds and gardens projects completed by others) are coordinated to both maintain the estate and deliver the support the Estates Investment Programme. Ensure that the School complies with relevant health and safety legislation in respect of all works connected to project works and be accountable for all other related legislation and regulatory compliance. Maintain comprehensive records to evidence compliance. Ensure that all visitors, consultants and contractors that operate on site are fully compliant with the School’s safeguarding and health and safety requirements.

Qualifications • Degree or equivalent in a related discipline i.e. Building Surveying or Quantity Surveying. • Membership of a Professional Body i.e. RICS / APM Essential Experience: • Previous experience of successfully delivering capital projects in an operationally live environment with multiple stakeholders. • Demonstrable experience in financial and budget management. • Demonstrable experience and knowledge of procurement procedures together with contract and tender knowledge. • Proven experience of delivering projects through the entire project lifecycle from inception through to completion. • A strong working knowledge of health and safety legislation within the context of construction and project work. • Proven ability to chair, present at, and contribute to meetings. • Experience of line managing professional and technical roles. • Previous experience of working in an educational setting is desirable but not essential. • Advanced IT skills with the ability to use and manage systems and resources effectively. Skills: • A clear, effective communicator, possessing both verbal and written skills, who is able to maintain effective communications systems and processes within the Projects and Estates Team, School stakeholders, and external stakeholders. • Time management skills and ability to meet deadlines whilst under pressure. • The ability to analyse and produce complex data and reports, interpret statistical information including financial data, and to suggest suitable options for programming. • Strong verbal and numerical reasoning.
