The Puente program provides Latinx centered coursework and events. In this program, you will be able to complete general education

courses: English 1A, English 3, and CLS-11. Students will be provided with a dedicated counselor to guide you in the transfer process. Students are provided with mentorship, leadership opportunities, and scholarship opportunities. Students are exposed to universities through filed trips and other outreach activities. The program’s purpose is to provide a support system for American Indian and Indigenous people of the Americas, but is open to all students. Students will improve study skills and obtain tools for successful transition into college and/or vocational training opportunities through coursework connected to Counseling and American Indian studies.

UMOJA (IDILE/SYMBAA) is a program designed to assist African American and other historically underrepresented students who desire to transfer to four-year universities, earn a degree or certificate and/or vocational training. IDILE (a large family Yoruba ) creates a space that offers opportunities to increase exposure to historical and cultural experiences from the African Diaspora and provides services and support to assist with ensuring Fresno City College students are afforded the opportunity to transfer to a four-year university at UC, CSU, HBCU or any applicable college system. SYMBAA The SYMBAA (Strengthening Young Minds by Academic Achievement) Program emphasis is on the African American student experience, assists students in achieving success and is designed to increase the number of African American students earn an AA/AS, certificate, and or vocational training.
