Financial Aid HELPFUL HINTS STEP 1 1. Visit studentaid.gov/fsa-id to create your FSA ID . An FSA ID is the username and password you will use every year to complete and electronically sign your Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). 2. All contributors will need their own FSA ID to provide required information and sign the FAFSA. (Contributors include parent, other parent, student's spouse, depending on what is applicable.) 3. Visit studentaid.gov to complete your FAFSA . You may apply as early as October 1 for the following school year. Be sure to add FCC (School code: 001307) to your FAFSA to ensure your application is received. Need help? Visit the Fresno City College Financial Aid Computer Lab for assistance. They are located in the Library building, room LI-123 and are open Monday-Friday, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. (closed 12-1 p.m.) STEP 2 – COMPLETE YOUR FILE 1. Check your FCC student email regularly . The FCC Financial Aid Office will notify you if you need to correct your FAFSA or bring documentation into the main office, or when your Financial Aid Offer Letter is ready to view. 2. Check your Student Portal . In your Student Portal, you can review your offer letter, see if documents are missing, and sign-up for direct deposit. 3. Bring any requested documents to the Financial Aid Office . They are in the Student Services building on the second floor and are open Monday through Friday, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. The Financial Aid Office is open all summer . Beat the lines and make sure your financial aid is ready before school starts by bringing your documents in as soon as you receive your notification. FAFSA

• Renew your FAFSA every year , starting October 1 for the following school year. • Fill out your FCC Scholarship Application from October 1 through March 2 .
• Didn’t answer “yes” to Federal Work Study on your FAFSA? Sign up in the Financial Aid Office starting July 1 . • To maintain your financial aid eligibility, you must meet Satisfactory Academic Progress (minimum 2.0 GPA, credit for at least 67% of the total units attempted, and have attempted less than 150% of the maximum cumulative units for your program).
