WELCOME TO FRESNO CITY COLLEGE!
Welcome to California’s first Community College! As the president of Fresno City College, I pledge to continue the rich tradition of academic excellence and student success that began in 1910. My journey to becoming a college president was different than the tradi - tional path. I grew up in a family of farmworkers and have a strong work ethic because of my experience. I began my education at a community college which has helped me advocate for the needs of students who may be the first to attend college in their family. As a first generation college student myself, I am thrilled and energized to serve the community of Fresno and work alongside faculty, staff, and administrators who are dedicated to improving the lives of our students. Fresno City College has many quality programs to offer you. We have
highly regarded instructors who are poets and published authors, others who are Grammy nominated musicians. We also have 22 athletics teams that consistently help students complete their educational goals and earn schol - arships to major universities. It has been my personal and professional goal to create a culture of anti-racism, where respect and inquiry are valued. I have also worked to foster student success as well as improve the economic, social, and cultural devel - opment of our students. Students are at the heart of the mission and vision of our college and our staff, faculty, and administrators are dedicated to your success. Fresno City College has a responsibility to the entire region to provide quality programs and accessibility for all.
