Members, sponsors and guests dined, networked with peers and were entertained by Irish comedian Andrew Ryan at the annual Northern Ireland Regional Dinner of the Electrical Contractors’ Association (ECA). ECA National President Sean Smyth and his wife Jane travelled over from London for the event, where they were welcomed by NI Chairman Richard Megarity. Held in the Culloden Estate and Spa on April 19, the event was attended by more than 100 guests and raised £1,645 for charity partner Belfast Trailblazers Powerchair Football Club. The team is managed by Michael Hilland, a former chairman of ECA, and last year beat the Republic of Ireland to place seventh and receive an ‘overall fair play’ award for sportsmanship at the FIPFA
Powerchair Football World Cup in Sydney, Australia.
The evening was hosted by TV sports presenter Adrian Logan, and supported by sponsors Bell Lighting, CEF, Crane, Edmundson Electrical, G4S, Ireland’s Electrical Magazine, Knightsbridge and Malone Lighting. ECA is the UK’s leading trade association for the electrotechnical and wider engineering services industry, offering support and advice to its members on technical issues, regulations and standards, health and safety, skills and employment, and much more.
