HAGER’S SPOTLIGHT ON TROY PANELS

Troy Panels’ workshop.

How does working with Hager help Troy Panels? Regarding any supplier-customer interaction, since our founding nearly 20 years ago, we have dealt with Hager and we have always maintained an open line of communication. Over the years, we have faced many obstacles, not least of which have been economic collapses, pandemics that disrupt the supply chain etc. However, thanks to Hager’s expertise, access to their knowledgeable technical team, broad product offering, alternate products or expedited transportation, we have always been able to meet those crucial deadlines.

regs has led to us to repeat work and a harmonious relationship with consultant engineers. How important is working alongside a manufacturer? Having a supplier who understands the needs of a panel builder is imperative. Panel builders are the main point of contact regarding what engineers specify on ongoing projects. Typically, engineers and contractors don’t like to veer from what was set out, so having a manufacturer who has both a wide range of products and the technical knowledge to back up these products is critical. Trying to shoehorn in an alternative or sometimes inferior component is not something that is feasible in modern construction.

par product is not an option for us and rarely pays, no matter how cheap it may seem to be. Having a reliable manufacturer installed will always pay for itself in the long run in both life of the product and our company reputation. Using a manufacturer with a recognised brand name sells itself. Engineers tend to lean towards tried- and-tested products and contractors feel more comfortable using what they are familiar with. This, in turn, makes a more seamless transition from initial submittal to on-site delivery of product. Availability of product has always been foremost in manufacturing, to the point that the above remarks become redundant if the switchgear is unavailable. Never was the switchgear market shown to be more exposed than during the pandemic and in subsequent years with various wars breaking the supply chain. Long-established manufacturers have been found to handle these obstacles much better than less-established brands regarding route to market.

In no particular order, reliability, brand awareness and availability of product. Before any piece of switchgear is placed in any of Troy Panels’ boards, the above criteria will have to be met. Using below-
