was reportedly wearing a black baseball cap with the letters “CCM,” tinted black sunglasses, and a black coat with a fur-lined hood. Investigators also believe that a white panel van may have been involved in the incident. The Russell County OPP are urging anyone with information related to this theft, or who may recognize the individual or vehicle described, to come forward. Members of the public are asked to contact the Russell County OPP at 1-888-310-1122 and refe- rence case number E251641827. Those who wish to remain anonymous can contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477) or submit information online through Ontario Crime Stoppers. Police remind residents that even small details can be valuable in helping advance an investigation.
The Russell County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying a person of interest following a theft at the Embrun Arena earlier this month. Police say the incident occurred on Saturday, December 6, at the Embrun Arena located on Blais Street. During the theft, approximately $70 in cash was taken along with two credit cards. Investigators report that the stolen credit cards were later used to make two separate purchases in Embrun. The suspect is described as a Middle Eastern male, approximately 40 to 50 years old, with a black beard. Police say the indi- vidual spoke French and indicated he was from Quebec. pour les résidents qui dépendent d’un accès local aux services fédéraux. Toutefois, la décision finale relève de Service Canada. Ce déménagement signifie que les résidents de Casselman qui souhaitent obtenir un soutien en personne pour une demande de passeport par l’entremise de l’unité mobile devront désormais se rendre à Embrun lors des dates de service prévues. Un avis officiel de Service Canada détail- lant ce changement a été transmis à la Municipalité et partagé avec les résidents afin de les informer du nouvel emplacement du service. La Municipalité encourage les citoyens à consulter attentivement cet avis pour connaître les détails mis à jour et à planifier leurs démarches en conséquence lorsqu’ils auront besoin de services de passeport.
Les résidents de Casselman devront bientôt se rendre à Embrun pour accéder aux services de demande de passeport offerts par l’unité mobile de Service Canada. La Municipalité a confirmé que, malgré les efforts déployés pour maintenir le service à Casselman, Service Canada a décidé de relocaliser son unité mobile de traitement des demandes de passeport à Embrun. Le service était auparavant offert au 750, rue Principale, les premier et troisièmes mercredis de chaque mois. Les responsables municipaux ont indiqué qu’ils avaient tenté de conserver le service à Casselman, reconnaissant son importance
