Family Members (Dependents) It is not possible to be joined by family members (partners and children) in the UK on a Student Visa if you are studying a taught Masters course (except in very limited circumstances – contact us for advice) Work Rights Student visa holders can work for up to 20 hours per week during term-time, but cannot be self- employed or engage in business activity. After your course end date, you can work full-time, but it must be a fixed-term job. Your Responsibilities The University is required to monitor your academic engagement with your course of study. If you do not engage with your studies for a long period, your Student Visa may be cancelled. If you need to extend your registration or resit exams The Student Immigration Team will offer bespoke advice and assist you with further Student Visa applications if necessary
