With thousands of miles of amazing trail systems stretching across the state, Colorado is a true hiker’s paradise. For those who would like more than a glance at the 14,000-foot-high Pikes Peak, a 30-minute drive from the resort will get you to the base of the famous mountain. About 15,000 people a year attempt to climb Pikes Peak on foot. The 13-mile trail begins at the base of Pikes Peak in Manitou Springs. There is also a cog railway that is open year-round with a nine-mile adventure, 14,115 feet in altitude, and sweeping 360-degree views as you ascend to the summit. Of course, confirmed couch potatoes are also welcome and there are many of the hiking sites that can be enjoyed from the comfort of your RV or vehicle. At the lovely campground, you can also set up your comfy seat and enjoy the sights and sounds of nature. The spacious campground is nestled on 28 acres with pine trees and amazing views of the Front Range. Colorado Heights Camping Resort is located just 45 minutes from Denver and 30 minutes from Colorado Springs.

Enjoy the private fishing pond, miniature golf, swimming pool, hot tub, recreation room, and even a kids' playground area. Meet new friends playing basketball and volleyball or picking up supplies at the country store. You'll have plenty to do here, but if you want to go see the nearby attractions, you're only minutes away.
