The mission statement of Wilderness Presidential Resort, Spotsylvania, Virginia, is “to provide remarkable experiences in a safe and enjoyable environment.” You can be assured that will be the case when you pull your rig into the 600-acre resort, which is home to an abundance of wildlife. Keep an eye out for the majestic bald eagles, resident deer and, if you’re lucky, catch a variety of fish in one of two well-stocked lakes. The resort is only 38 miles from Washington, D.C. so it’s just a short trip to the nation’s capital. You don’t need to leave the gates to have fun and adventure. The amazing selection of resort-style activities will keep you and your entire family entertained. In addition to the outdoor activities, there’s a monthly schedule packed with fun, such as crafting, kid's night out, board games, movie nights, and more. Bring your own RV or tent or select from a number of different budget-friendly cabins and stationary camping RV options. With great views of the lake, and all the creature comforts of home, our cabins and camping RVs turn camping into a more relaxing glamping. Row away on the water for some great views and fishing on Cool Spring Lake. There are a variety of boats to rent including Jon Boats, GoBoats, Kayaks, Corcl, pedal boat, and aqua cycle.
Try out the 30-foot Rock Climbing Wall, which features an automatic belay system. Grab onto the hand and foot holds to see if you’re able to climb to the top. Or experience the live interactive Escape Room where you and a group of friends find clues and solve a series of puzzles to escape before time runs out. If you like all things water, the resort has two outdoor pools and an indoor aquatics center. The outdoor pools include slides, diving board, water volleyball area, and a mushroom fountain. Paulson Pool, indoors, is a heated lap pool and is open year-round. Water aerobics classes are available. Relax in the lounge that has a large screen TV, couches, tables, and chairs. There’s also a fitness center that has a variety of exercise equipment; a full-size basketball court, ping pong tables, pool table, and an air-hockey table. Meet new friends and old friends at the 18-hole mini golf course and Frisbee golf course. Retrace some of the history of the Civil War at four battlefields near Spotsylvania. There are guided walking tours of the battlefields and nearby museums and historic homes.
