BCN Webinar On Machine Learning Receives High Marks From Viewers The webinar, “How Machine Learning Will Change the Corrugated Industry” aired on Monday, March 28, 2022, at 10 a.m. EST, when more than 80 corrugated and folding carton industry professionals participated in the first digi- tal event hosted by Board Converting News . Moderated by Editor-in-Chief Len Prazych, attendees gained insights into the next technology leap facing box plants – where data is harvested and analyzed to increase output and profit margins, with a focus on predicting and preventing machine breakdowns. Panelists included Matt Miller, Director of Technology at Helios; Justin Gagne, Senior Data Scientist at Helios; and Dennis Wood, Director of Manufacturing at Premier Pack- aging. After the 47-minute webinar, a lively 15-minute Q&A session revealed the high level of interest and opportunity surrounding machine learning. One of the key takeaways was that AI-enabled predictive and preventative mainte- nance is quickly moving from a distant option to an urgent business necessity, allowing box plants to gain rapid com- petitive advantages.
