TRAVEL ALLOWANCES
Referred to as ‘the headquarters of racing’, Newmarket is home to an unequalled array of facilities which meet every trainers needs... It’s just 65 miles North East of London. Purpose built horse walks which meander through the town, connect training yards to the 14 miles of state-of-the-art artificial tracks, 50 miles of premier turf gallops and schooling facilities that Newmarket Training Grounds has to offer .
Enquiries on potential contributions from the Jockey Club towards the cost of transport and entry fees are welcomed and can be directed to our international representatives, Matt Woolston and Sophie Able, or the International Racing Bureau. Details for all appear in this brochure. The Jockey Club will consider each opportunity on its own merits, taking account of a horse’s rating and the quality of the race being targeted. While substantial incentives will be o¢ered, connections are responsible for organising and paying for shipping, stabling, access to training facilities and general expenditure while in the UK. The International Racing Bureau work closely with The Jockey Club and will be on hand to assist with all of the above.
In the heart of the Berkshire Downs, just 40 miles West of Ascot Lambourn Training Grounds provides top class schooling facilities, 8 miles of premium downland turf gallops and 7 miles of artificial tracks. This tranquil, picturesque setting is the prefect place to train.
Just 40 minutes from central London, Epsom Training Grounds could not be more different to city life. Surrounded by mature woodland, the unspoilt turf gallops and recently ungraded artificial tracks offer a training experience not to be missed.
