The opening of Reece Cross- LQJVPDUNVDVLJQLÀFDQWPLOH - stone in Corvias’ 12-year part- nership with the Army at Fort Meade and their shared com- mitment to creating quality communities and enhancing quality of life for members of the military and their families. As a result of this new com- munity, junior unaccompanied service members can live on the installation, closer to their work and support systems. Said John Picerne , founder and CEO of Corvias Group, “Together, with the Army, we have, and will continue to reshape the expectation of what the quality of life can and should be for our service members and their families.” Reece Crossings consists of 432 apartments and is de- signed to give more than 1,000 junior unaccompanied service members a choice to live on- post at Fort Meade. “The Corvias and Fort Meade teams have worked together for many hours to bring this day to fruition and I am, personally, thrilled to see the realization of all that hard work all around me today,” said Paul Cramer, Deputy Assistant Secretary of the Army for Installations, Energy and Environment. Reece Crossings was de- signed in accordance with Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Silver, Low-Impact Develop- ment (LID) and ENERGY STAR® guidelines, including advanced storm water man- agement techniques. Use of low-flow toilets, faucets and showers and Energy Star rated appliances will reduce energy consumption. The project was also constructed with recycled, low-maintenance, regional ma- terials to reduce transportation cost and carbon emissions from delivery vehicles.
“The Fieldside Commons ownership and development team is very pleased the build- ing received the LEED Silver, Core and Shell designation,” said Joe Credit , principal at Sherwood Partners LLC. “Everyone on the project team worked very hard to incorpo- rate building design, construc- tion and operational features that enhanced sustainability and enabled the recognition to be achieved.”
