WHERE DO YOU WANNA TRAVEL? Gde vam se putuje?
Jun June
Summer on the horizon and new chapters
J une marks the start of the summer holiday season and a time when plans become reality, whether it be a seaside break, exploring new cities, or returning to cherished destinations. Our plans will become reality in June as well, as the network of cities we fly to expands with the addition of four new destinations. Are you ready to fly to Mykonos, Sardinia, Tbilisi, or Geneva? If you like islands, this is the perfect time to let us fly you to Myko- nos to uncover some of the most beautiful beaches on the Aegean Sea. Let the evening find you on cobblestone streets where urban glamour perfectly intertwines with rural warmth. Fans of Italy will certainly be overjoyed to learn of our direct ser- vice to Sardinia. Air Serbia will fly to the city of Alghero, but be ready to explore the entire island and discover what makes it one of the most beloved destinations for tourists worldwide. In mid-June, we will be opening the doors to the Caucasus wide open with flights to Tbilisi, while those craving urban elegance and an Alpine setting will most certainly be delighted by the prospect of our new direct flight to Geneva. Once on the plane, just a few short minutes after take-off, you will find yourself soaring above the Danube, which—much like Air Serbia—connects Belgrade, Budapest and Vienna. And as you enjoy the bird’s-eye view of the majestic landscape, remember that Inter- national Danube Day is marked in the same month, on 29 th June. We observe a tradition every 17 th June, with this year marking the 98 th anniversary of the founding of Aeroput - the first airline in these parts. As its proud successor, we strive to consistently follow the vi- sion and mission of our founders: to connect people and cities, just as generations before us once did.
Letnji horizonti i nova poglavlja

STANOVANJE SA POTPISOM HOTELA INTERCONTINENTAL BEOGRAD RESIDENCE SIGNED BY INTERCONTINENTAL BELGRADE
Projekat ispunjava najviše standarde održivosti i poseduje LEED i WELL sertifikate. Implementirane su geotermalne sonde, solarni paneli i inteligentni sistemi za upravljanje energijom – što donosi niže operativne troškove i veću efikasnost.
J ust a two-minute drive from Belgrade city centre, in the prestigious Block 20, Delta District is taking shape – representing the most advanced mixed- use residential and commercial complex in the country. This visionary, investment- minded project is being developed by Delta Real Estate, a member of Delta Holding, which is known for the its reconstruction of Sava Center and for shaping some of the region’s most prominent landmarks. New Belgrade’s Delta District redefines urban living by offering the rare privilege of life with a five-star hotel service – and a smart opportunity to invest in a property with long-term value growth. Built in two phases, the project includes two luxury residential towers, a premium Class-A office tower and InterContinental Belgrade, which returns to the Serbian capital after two decades. What sets Delta District apart is the perfect fusion of everyday comfort and investment potential. Residents will benefit from a 24/7 concierge service, maintenance, catering, and access to the full spectrum of five-star hotel amenities. The complex also features a spa & wellness centre, top-tier restaurants, a cinema, lounge areas, private parks and a panoramic pool on the 20 th floor that offers breathtaking views that elevate the value of the property. “Delta District is a carefully crafted concept designed for the modern businessperson and forward-thinking investor. It answers the question of how to combine a prime location with the highest standards of living – while securing long-term investment value,” says Delta Holding Vice President and Delta Real Estate CEO Angelina Nekić. The project, which meets the highest standards of sustainability and will be LEED and WELL certified, includes geothermal wells, solar panels and smart energy systems – thus reducing operational costs and increasing energy efficiency.

U JUNU BIRAMO MIKONOS I SARDINIJU
Ovog meseca Er Srbija poleće do dva divna ostrva – Mikonosa (6. juna) i Sardinije, do grada Algera (10. juna).

IN JUNE WE CHOOSE MYKONOS & SARDINIA
Air Serbia is this month launching fli - ghts to two wonderful islands: Mykonos (6 th June) and the Sardinian city of Alghe- ro (10 th June). If you weren’t sure where to spend the first days of summer, you no longer have to worry, because these two destinations are simply irresistible. “The Island of the Winds”, as Mykonos is often dubbed, is located at the heart of the Cyclades island group and has a tra- ditional island culture despite being extre- mely cosmopolitan. Interwoven in this one place are luxury hotels and stone-paved streets with whitewashed houses, villa - ge chapels and countless windmills. The island is bathed in sunlight throughout the
day, while at night the doors of numerous bars and clubs open for visitors to create unforgettable memories. In contrast, Alghero is one of Sardi - nia’s liveliest cities. You’ll fall in love with its picturesque old town, traditional har - bour and the expansive beaches of this former Catalan enclave. Don’t be surpri- sed to hear older residents of the city sti- ll speaking the Catalan dialect of Alghe- rese or by the fact that the Catalan flag also flies above the town hall, alongside those of Sardinia, Italy and the European Union. This culture is felt throughout the city, so it’s no wonder that locals like to call it Little Barcelona.

The alluring charm of “little Barcelona” Crystal-clear waters, soft, whi - te sand beaches, granite rocks framed by wild, Mediterrane - an undergrowth… Welcome to Sardinia, island of a thousand contrasts that will seduce you with its unique archaeologi- cal heritage and characteri- stic hospitality. Alghero, one of the most beautiful medieval seaside towns, represents the main resort in the northwest of the island. Despite being focused on tourism to a lar- ge extent, the city has nonet - heless retained its unique spi- rit. The city’s vibrant historical centre is a great place for so- cialising, with many great re - staurants and bars making it an ideal base for exploring the beaches and beauty of the to- urist region of the Riviera del Corallo. Church of San Francesco Alghero’s most beautiful church is an example of ar- chitectural harmony. Ere - cted originally according to a 14 th -century Catalan Gothic design, it was subsequently reworked in the Renaissan - ce style after partially collap- sing in 1593. The interior fo- cuses around an 18 th -century polychrome marble altar and a curious wooden pillar scul- pture dating back to the 17th century. You can enter a be- autiful 14 th -century mona- stery through the church’s ve- stry, where 22 pillars connect a series of round arches to form a place with wonderful ambience for summer con- certs, while there’s also a bell tower there.
from Piazza Sulis in the south to Porta a Mare and the mari- na in the north, you’ll enjoy the footpaths along the top that provide extraordinary views of the rocky Capo Caccia on the blue horizon. Restaurants and bars line the promena- de and offer perfect spots to sit and inhale the aroma of the sea. Alghero is conside- red one of Sardinia’s most be- autiful towns thanks precise- ly to the narrow streets that run between the city walls, wi - th numerous workshops, re - staurants, souvenir shops and unavoidable gelaterias. Here you’ll have an opportunity to enjoy the most beautiful sun - sets, while listening to the so - und of the sea lapping against the walls.
Piazza Civica The Piazza Civica is practica- lly Alghero’s exhibition squa- re. The former administrati- ve heart of the medieval city, it was there that Spanish aristo- crats once met to discuss the affairs of the empire, while to - day tourists gather to brow- se jewellery in elegant shop windows, eat gelato and drink espresso at the city‘s largest café – Caffe Costantino, whi - ch occupies the ground floor of the Gothic Palazzo d‘Albis, which famously hosted Spani- sh emperor Charles V in 1541.

Coral Museum Alghero’s extremely intere- sting Coral Museum tells the story of the economy and bio- logy of this red gold that’s mi- ned from the sea. The ways coral has been collected over the years and the role it played in local craft traditi- ons is illustrated using infor- mation panels and exhibits that include coral jewellery. The museum occupies an ele- gant Art Nouveau mansion that was created specifica - lly to tell the story of the iden- tity and strong connection that has always united the ci- ty and coral. This is a fascina- ting journey into the history of the red heart of Alghero, it - self a precious gift of the Me- diterranean. The Coral Muse- um provides visitors with an opportunity to explore topics like the history, biology and lo - cal economy created through the processing of this valua- ble element, which is consi - dered the real source of this community’s wealth. Gems and jewellery with roots in the depths of the sea embody a deep connection that keeps alive the city’s tradition. Capo Caccia From the walls of Alghero one can observe a beautiful 19 th -century lighthouse that re- mains active to this day. Bu- ilt in 1864 to overlook the sea from the top of Capo Ca- ccia cape, it is directly abo - ve Neptune’s Grotto, to which it is connected by a staircase of 656 steps that’s known as the Escala de Cabirol - Stair - case of the Roe Deer. The whi - te lighthouse is a three-storey structure that’s protected by an anti-lightning Faraday cage. Its 24-metre-tall tower, which was rebuilt in the 1950s, brin - gs the height of the focal point to 186 metres, making it Italy’s tallest lighthouse.
Neptune’s Grotto You can reach one of the area’s most beautiful caves, rich in natural jewellery, eit - her on foot or by boat. If you opt to walk there, you’ll need to conquer approximately 600 steps, but you’ll soon forget the effort thanks to the beau- tiful view of the turquoise sea and the contrast between red rocks and restless waters. Just a few kilometres from Al- ghero, on the northwestern slope of Capo Caccia, a mar - vellous journey begins in a lar - ge cave that contains the wa- ters of Lake Lamarmora, one of Europe’s largest subterra - nean saltwater lakes, and con - tinues through mesmerising spaces that have been gi- ven names like the Ruins and the magnificent Royal Palace. A little further on is the Smi-
th Room, which is domina - ted by the Great Organ – the cave’s largest column, whi - le you can complete your tour by enjoying the view from the Music Gallery, a natural pano - ramic balcony offering views overlooking the lake. Beaches Alghero’s coastline is famo- us for its towers and rampar- ts. Walking the seafront is a wonderful way to familiari- se yourself with the remains of past wars and bygone ci- vilisations. From the Phoeni- cians and Romans to the Ca - talans, they all provided new forms by constantly adap- ting the towers to better re- sist sea-borne attacks. Approxi- mately an hour’s drive from Al- ghero, in the Stintino area, is La Pelosa beach that’s known for being among the most be- autiful in Sardinia. Fine white sand and crystal-clear waters lead from a shallow and cle- ar seabed to gradually beco- me intensely turquoise. This
is the perfect beach for chil- dren thanks to the shallowne- ss extending outwards for se- veral metres. Porto Conte Alghero is a destination for nature lovers thanks to the national park area of the bay of Porto Conte located just 12 kilometres from the city. This is an area of pine fore- sts, sand beaches and spa - cious parks that lead to be- autiful coves. It is connected to Alghero city centre via pe- destrian paths and cycle la- nes. The Regional Natural Park of Porto Conte boasts a wide range of natural lands- capes – from rocky cliffs wi- th steep drops to the sea, to white sandy beaches, oak fo - rests and Mediterranean thic- kets. You’ll find within this vast natural paradise the be- autiful Mugoni Beach, lapped by the crystal-clear waters of the Mediterranean, or the Por - ticciolo Tower, which offers a magnificent panoramic view of the entire bay. Also located here are many hiking trails that you should explore, whi - le this is also a great location for birdwatchers keen to spot the many species that call Sardinia home.

Unique island of winds Superyachts, supermodels, su - perstars, superbly exquisite fine dining and a super-crazy nigh-
tlife scene? Sure, everything is super on Mykonos, but this island is much more than sand beaches and the good life. Wi- th a history that’s been lost to the deepest recesses of an- tiquity, the Greek island that ne - ver sleeps is steeped in legends and myths that have shaped it over the centuries Jackie and Petros From Paul McCartney to Elon Musk, Mykonos is a favou - rite destination for everyone who’s anyone. However, its gre - atest celebrity isn’t even hu- man. Throughout his long and prolific career, Petros the Peli - can has been petted and cajo - led by Hollywood stars and royalty, and has even been to New York for a film project. As the story goes, a wounded pe - lican was found on the shores of Mykonos during the 1954 royal cruise of Queen Frederica to the Greek islands and was nursed back to life by a local fi - sherman. The bird was named in honour of Petros, a Mykonos native who’d fought bravely for his country’s freedom during World War II. The adorable ani- mal soon became the darling of the jetsetters, including the li - kes of Jackie O, who were just starting to visit the island at the time. Following the demise of the original Petros in a traf- fic accident during the 1980s, America’s former first lady de - cided to donate another pelican to Mykonos. In the meantime, Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton had also fallen in love with the island, followed by ot - her famous globetrotters, and Mykonos became one of the most desirable summer desti- nations and remains so to this day – despite being one of the
smallest Cyclades, it is synony - mous with luxury and paradisi- cal sand beaches. Hercules and the Titans Ancient Greek mythology tea - ches us that Mykonos was na- med after its first ruler, Myko - nos, son of the god Apollo, while the island was also the site of a battle between Zeus and the Titans. According to legend, Hercules fought on the side of his father and defeated the Giants, imprisoning them under the island’s rocky terra- in. It is believed that they re- main buried there to this day, under Houlakia Bay. And the bay’s stunningly beautiful San Marco Beach is actually prote- cted by the Greek Ministry of Culture, which is why it is stri - ctly forbidden for visitors to remove even a single pebble! The Archaeological Museum of Mykonos was founded in 1905 and is among the oldest in Greece. Among its many ar - tefacts, this museum preser - ves an amphora known as the Mykonos Vase that is adorned
with one of the oldest repre- sentations of the Trojan Horse. Windmills and churches The windmills that cover the hi- ll above the island’s main town of Chora, as well as the famo - us Church of Panagia Parapor- tiani, often adorn photos and postcards from the island and are even celebrated in films. This church with an unusu- al name, which literally tran - slates as “Our Lady of the Side Gate”, was built in the 15 th cen- tury and is decorated with cha- racteristics of Cycladic archite- cture, embedded in the rocks of the island. They provide the im- pression that the church has emerged from the stone itself, while it actually emerged from the ruins of the four churches located beneath it. Ano Mera and Tourliani At the heart of the island, just eight kilometres from Chora, is the tranquil village of Ano Mera, with its beautiful main square and traditional Greek spirit. play mika in the shade while si- pping ouzo and retsina wine. Ano Mera is also home to one of the island’s most important sites: Panagia Tourliani Mona- stery, which dates back to the 15 th century. This snow-white monastery located on the right side of the central square is de- dicated to the Holy Mother of God and a miraculous icon that represents the protector of the island. Built by fugitive monks from Paros, who found refuge from pirates on Mykonos, the monastery’s main church is de- dicated to the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary. Just a kilometre to the south is Pale- okastro Monastery, which da - tes to the 12 th century and was constructed, as the name sug - gests, on the remains of an old fortress. This area is an impor- tant archaeological site as it is believed to have been the lo- cation of one of Mykonos’s an- cient settlements. Cholera and white houses “Unless you have seen the hou- ses in Mykonos, you can’t pre - tend to be an architect,” sa - id famous French architect Le Corbusier, who fell in love with the pristine beauty of Mykonos and praised it on every possible occasion. In reality, the trade - mark whitewashed houses of Chora were actually yellow, pink or blue until the 1930s, when former Greek Prime Minister Io - annis Metaxas decreed that all Cycladic residences must be covered with lime due to hygie- ne. The country was plagued by cholera at the time and lime was then the most potent disin- fectant. The once colourful ho- uses then turned white over- night, under the watchful eye of local policemen. Labyrinth and pirates Dotted with designer boutiques, gourmet restaurants and lively bars, Chora’s trademark labyrin - thine streets are a delight to get
lost in. Yet their characteristic form is attributed to Mykonos’s pirate days. Back in the 1700s, the island was plagued by fero- cious raids, prompting the lo - cals to seek a solution in the construction of these winding lanes that would confuse ma- rauders and prevent them from finding their way to the heart of the town. However, the pira - tes of Mykonos weren’t always bad. While they terrorised the- ir enemies at sea, they also protected their kinsmen aga- inst the Turks and even provi- ded them with sustenance. The last known Pirate of Mykonos who took to buccaneering in an effort to avoid becoming ensla- ved by the Ottomans was even nicknamed “Robin of the Seas”, as he actively helped orphans and widows. Little Venice and shopping Little Venice is the picture po- stcard seafront neighbourho- od of Chora, where the world’s elite gather to enjoy themse - lves. The colourful rows of ho- uses that evoke images of the famous Italian city testify to the island’s deep-rooted connection with the former Republic of Ve - nice. Mykonos was under dire-
ct Venetian rule from 1390 un- til 1718, when it was conquered by the Ottomans. The 19-metre tall Armenistis Lighthouse was built in 1891 and boasts stu- nning sunset views. The shop- ping in Mykonos is, obviously, excellent. Greek designers line Matogianni Street, while Little Venice is great for casual fas- hion, jewellery and souvenirs. Chora’s other delights include an appealing open-air cinema, Cine Manto, and a number of quirky art galleries. Beaches to suit everyone With more than 30 different beaches boasting fine whi - te sand and crystal-clear wa- ter, Mykonos has something for everyone’s tastes and require- ments – from isolated and de- serted coves to bustling and lively shores. with great enterta- inment day and night. There are beaches for water sports, nudi - sm and families, beaches that host night parties etc. Among the most popular are the bea- ches Super Paradise, Paradi - se, Paraga, Agia Anna, Ornos, Psarrou, Agios Ioannis, Elia, Agriari and Lia. The beaches of the south coast are also ge- nerally more popular thanks to their parties, top restaurants and famous bars. Delos excursion Mykonos belongs to the Cyc- lades island group, which con - sists of 33 islands that form a circle (“cyclos”) around the sa- cred islet of Delos: birthplace of the divine twins Apollo and Artemis. Located just a 30-mi - nute ferry ride from Chora, the island is teeming with history and has a rich heritage. De- los occupies a central positi- on among the Cycladic islands, which is why ancient poet Ca- llimachus dubbed it “the he- art of all the islands” in the third century BC. Popular througho- ut the Mediterranean, this now uninhabited island had around
