And, fortunate- ly, the fashion of 2025 is ready to over- come that challenge. Following several seasons saturated by minimalism, beige hues and a phi- losophy of “discreet prestige”, sum- mer 2025 sees the dress return to its roots — drama, soul, and a dash of nostalgia. Boho is back again, though this time with a degree in architecture. Dresses are longer, more fluttering and filled with movement. They now pro- vide vigorous and sensual silhouettes with a hint of ‘70s glam and the aroma of sea salt in the hem. They are ideal for spending an evening at a hotel that has more Michelin stars than rooms. Translucent fabrics are dominant not due to the heat, but because of a desire to be seen — though through a veil of mystique. Black lace, white tulle, lay- ers that flicker in candlelight. Nauti- cal striped patterns that have for years been reserved for days spent yacht- ing now appear in an evening vari- ant — silky and dramatic, with thigh- high slits. And then come the tassels.
