FREEDOM OF EXPRESSION THROUGH OIL PAINTING

INTERMEDIATE CALLIGRAPHY : LEARNING LAYOUT

This class is designed to guide students to find their inner artist and explore conscious and subconscious ideas – much like painters throughout history have found inspiration . The class is suitable for all levels and includes basic instruction for using oil paints as well as composition , subject matter , and concepts . Letter your very own calligraphy art piece to hang in your home or gift to a loved one . In this one - day 4 - hour workshop you will learn how to layout and execute a short passage with decorative elements . This is an intermediate calligraphy course where each student will be walked through the process of creating a final piece . We will all be executing the same design , but each student may use whichever calligraphy style they know . You ' ll learn 2 border designs , a few illustrative elements , and ultimately how to piece everything together into beautiful artwork . All styles welcome !

BEGINNING WATERCOLOR

PAINTING WITH OILS DEMYSTIFIED

Watercolor is a level one observational painting class . In Watercolor , students will learn color theory and application techniques and will receive weekly assignments geared towards advancing their observational skills and technical application . Students will receive compositional and conceptual liberties toward the end of the term with their final assignment as a learning evaluation . ABSTRACT PAINTING WORKSHOP

Designed for both the beginner and experienced painter , in this course you will be introduced to the language and tools of painting and the use of color and composition to create realistic portraits and figures in oils . Relax and learn in a non - stressful environment from a professional artist . Returning students are always introduced to new techniques to help them move forward with their painting ! Ready to take the exciting first steps in abstract acrylic painting ? This comprehensive 2 day beginner ’ s class , esteemed artist Pamela Jameson walks you through the basics , from choosing a palette and paint to fundamental techniques such as color mixing , layering and more . Day 1 you will practice your new skills with simple exercises and experimentation . Day 2 you will choose your style of painting and color palette to complete your first abstract painting . With Pamela ’ s step - by - step guidance , you ’ ll be confidently loving abstract painting in no time ! Day 1 : Students experiment with various tools to apply paint , base coloring with layers , color mixing techniques , mediums and mark making as an expressive outlet for their creativity . Day 2 : Students choose their abstract style and color palette for final canvas . Continue to experiment , explore and expand your painting process while applying your newly acquired abstract painting skills and knowledge .

INTRODUCTION TO CALLIGRAPHY WITH A POINTED PEN

In Figure Drawing students will be examining the human form up close while drawing from observation . Students will explore rapid movement and position change with gestures for half the session . The second half will be reserved for durational drawing with detail . NOTE : a $ 5 model fee is added to the cost of the class . Supply List : Compressed charcoal , Willow / vine charcoal , Charcoal pencil ( soft / med / hard ), Kneaded eraser , Blenders , 18 x24 ” toned charcoal pad , Newsprint

Introduction to Calligraphy welcomes you to the art of writing . This is a calligraphy class for beginners . During this 4 - week course , you will learn how to use a pen and nib and create the basic strokes that make up the fundamentals of letterforms . We will explore the pointed dip pen and perform drills that will help you create consistent strokes and even improve your handwriting ! By the end of this course , you will be able to use a dip pen to write in a classic modern calligraphy style .

Performance art is created through actions executed by the artist or other participants . It may be witnessed live or through documentation , spontaneously developed or written , and is traditionally presented to a public in a fine art context in an interdisciplinary mode . In Performance Art Practices we will be going through a series of skill building exercises meant to help center your focus and assist with recontextualizing your surroundings .
