4 What’s your dream project? CVDR: I’d love to renovate a castle, something that really puts my skills to the test. Lots of heritage detail, maybe even a hidden room or two. That’s the kind of job that shows what you’re really capable of. RL: My dream project would be to build a one-off modern Manor House replication that would test the team’s skills. I’ve always thought that would be amazing to be involved with. 5 If you weren’t a builder/ in construction, what would you do? CVDR: Before this, I used to work offshore. If I hadn’t made the switch, I’d probably still be out there. But honestly, I wouldn’t recommend that kind of life. It takes its toll. plus, nothing beats being home with the family.

Chris Van De Ruit: My old Irwin Stanley knife. I’ve had it since my first year as an apprentice. It’s old but faithful. If it ever goes missing on site, I tell everyone to stop the job until we find it. I’m not joking. Put down the tools and find the knife. I can’t work without it.

Ryan Lange: That is a very hard one to answer because it depends on what I’m doing that day. But if pressed, I’m going to say my trusty impact drill. 2 What’s your go-to radio station or what’s a favourite on-site song that gets everyone singing? CVDR: We’ve usually got North Sound 1 or Tay FM on because it keeps the vibe light and the people on site in a good
range in age demographics, ranging from 17-63. So as you can imagine, you can’t please everyone. We normally have either Absolute Radio or Gold Radio as they seem to keep everyone happy. 3 What’s the strangest request you’ve ever received from a client? CVDR: Oh man, I once had
