Signature Smiles - May 2021

...continued from Cover

Dr. Omar took the time to educate me about the acidity in soda and what it does to your teeth. It’s something you hear about but you don’t always think about. It’s easy to reach for a soda, and that’s what I did. Dr. Omar said I was getting too much sugar and not enough water. After talking with Dr. Omar, I started doing more research on my own. I saw the effects soda had on teeth and it was not pretty. It took some time, but in August of last year, I dropped soda. I didn’t realize just how bad it was, and the more I learned, the easier it was to stop. None of my past dentists had ever talked to me about the risks of drinking soda. They never bothered to educate me. They never even bothered to have a real conversation with me. Coming to Signature Smiles was like stepping into a different world — and it’s amazing! Several months later, not only are my teeth much healthier, I’m smiling more. I even lost nearly 30 pounds, and I have so much more self- confidence. My fiancé and our kids also come to Signature Smiles because of my great experience. I’m a completely different person — a better person! –DeAnn
