Heritage Container (CONT’D FROM PAGE 40)
Investment Continues To support the higher speed and greater capacity of its new Emba, Heritage Container invested in a new EAM-Mosca unitizer, two EAM-Mosca bundlers, and in Q4 of this year, will install an Alliance load former. Including the Emba, this equates to an investment of nearly $6 mil- lion in the last 18 months and growth of approximately 280 percent in the past three years. So what’s next? More equipment? Expansion? Acqui- sition? Gabriel says he and Ponce want to “fine tune” everything Heritage is doing, although, a very assertive gameplan plan is set to add additional new multi-color flexo equipment and digital technology for future growth and expansion. Ponce says management’s mindset has always been “if we operate like we’re in a recession at all times – through lean thinking at all levels and all activities, perform at the highest level, we will continue to see expo- nential growth and success – and we have. What is just as equally important outside of just delivering a product to our customers, is delivering a world class level of service and customer experience.” “We now have the ability to compete with anyone in the race,” says Gabriel. “But you can’t be content with your success, and you can’t take your foot off the gas. And you must enjoy the fruits of your labor and reward those who are a part of your success. I’m happy and proud to say that Heritage Container’s new vision is on a very success- ful track.”
Heritage purchased its Emba Q245 Ultima with four printing units – three bottom and one top – to accommo- date its e-commerce customers. Emba is working on the technology to add a digital printing head to the fourth unit,
something that Ponce says would be welcomed by Heri- tage with open arms. “The investment in our Emba achieved our goal of con- tinuing to bringing in more modern, sophisticated equip- ment to make our footprint smaller but our output larg- er,” says Gabriel. “Buying the new Emba is the best thing we’ve ever done.” An EAM-Mosca SQ4 strapper is another new investment.
