Mitsubishi Continues (CONT’D FROM PAGE 50)

Kitahara explained three NGC corrugators have been supplied so far, all built to operate at a maximum rate of 400 mpm. These include a 2.8m NGC to VPK in Norway; a 2.5m NGC for New Era in Johannesburg, South Africa; and a 2.5m machine for Kaan in Turkey. “It’s possible we will introduce our NGC in North Ameri- ca in the future, but our plan is mainly to introduce the line in Europe,” Kitahara said. “We need European experience first, as we have more corrugators installed there.” In Asia, MHI-MS has supplied two hybrid corrugators to Taiwan, both made with conventional units and new com- ponents from the NGC corrugator. Both hybrid corrugators installed in Taiwan are 2.2m models designed to operate at 350 mpm. Kitahara noted that MHI-MS has also introduced its NGC 60N single facer featuring automatic cartridge change. “It’s automatic, quick and easy to change within three minutes,” Kitahara commented.
