Kernic Installs Höcker Dust Collection System In Florida

Burlington, Ontario based Kernic Systems announced an installation underway in Florida of a new, high-efficiency 20,000 cfm capacity Höcker Polytechnik GmbH Negative Vacuum Dust Collection System integrated with a paper material separator. The new system replaces an older, undersized dust col- lector operating at a high-volume paper shredding plant, according to the company’s LinkedIn announcement. A four-man crew is operating with a two-week shut- down window that includes a new, fast-cure concrete pad, master panel electrical service and complete plant wide ductwork upgrade. The new Höcker Dust Collector is complete with an in- tegrated briquetting system allowing for a fully automated, labor-free dust control system. Along with the integrated briquetter, the negative vacuum dust collection system is designed to ensure an efficient, quiet, dust free environ- ment.

The negative vacuum system pulls paper particles and dust through a pre-separator that discharges the larger paper particles into a horizontal baler while the conveying air and dust continue to the dust collection system. A traditional positive pressure system pushes material from its source through the duct work towards the separa- tor and collector. Not only does this new negative vacu- um system eliminate the need for noisy material handling fans, but it also operates using efficient programming that idles or slows down unnecessary air flow when systems or equipment requiring air conveying are not in use. The re- sult is reduced electrical consumption, longer service life for filter medium, reduced noise levels, and a virtually dust free environment.
