Dear Brothers of the Southeastern Province, My Dear Brothers, Words cannot express the outpouring of love and support you have given me and my family during this process of dealing with my father’s passing during the Province Council. It is much appreciated by my family, and we are eternally grateful. That is brotherhood at its finest. In the words of my Deputy Chief of Staff, Chief Willie Hopkins, “That’s the brotherhood I know.” I hope this message finds you in good health and high spirits. As we reflect on the accomplishments of this year, I want to extend my deepest gratitude to each of you for your dedication, commitment, and hard work in advancing the mission and ideals of our great fraternity. Your tireless efforts have strengthened our chapters and uplifted our communities, setting a standard of excellence that makes us all proud. Looking forward, I am excited about the opportunities ahead of us. We are eagerly anticipating an outstanding gathering at the 99th Southeastern Province Council in Augusta, GA, where we will unite in the spirit of brotherhood to engage in fellowship, strategic planning, and collaborative leadership. Additionally, our young leaders will gain valuable insight and development at the Undergraduate Leadership Summit in Clemson, SC, preparing them to take on the mantle of leadership with honor and distinction. We have a momentous year ahead of us as we launch this administration’s new platform of “Operation 100.” We are preparing for innovative programs outlined in the “State of the Province Address” and we have already begun the work to implement those. As stated, Brother Dr. Leo Brown will lead the charge in developing our inaugural leadership development program. We will continue to lean towards increasing the list of corporate sponsorships. Brother Anthony Clark has agreed to lead that effort as our newly appointed Corporate Affairs Chair. Brother Antonio Martez, who has been instrumental in our other sponsorships, will continue to keep those relationships advancing and assist Brother Clark. Regarding communications, we are poised to launch our centennial rewrite of the province history book. This project, led by Brother Dr. Christopher Johnson, will be this province’s biggest rewrite. Additionally, I have asked Brother Solomon Shaheen to produce a historical documentary on this region. We are also enthusiastic about the Annual Kappa League Conference, a cornerstone event that empowers the next generation of leaders and exemplifies our commitment to mentorship and community engagement. Your continued support and involvement in these initiatives help ensure that our fraternity’s impact remains powerful and far-reaching. Thank you once again for your unwavering devotion and for being the backbone of our province’s success. Together, we will continue to build on the solid foundation we have established and advance toward even greater achievements in the future. Lastly, one program we are looking forward to is the joint C. Roger Wilson Leadership Conference in 2025 in conjunction with the Southern Province. This event has been introduced as a celebration as both provinces have milestones occurring in 2026. The Southern Province will celebrate 75 years of existence and, of course, our province’s 100th anniversary. I will leave you with this. We invite you to be part of the transformation of the province. We are looking for you! In fact, we cannot do it without you. Yours in the bond. What a wonderful and progressive fraternal year we just experienced as it was capped off with a successful Province Council in Charleston, SC. Hats off to the brothers and silhouettes of the “Lowcountry Coalition of Kappas,” better known as the L.o.C.K. You all made the experience easy and one to remember. We were equally gracious to have our Senior Grand Vice Polemarch, Attorney Robert L. Jenkins in attendance as our guest and closed banquet speaker. It was a pleasure to have him with us in his hometown.

Yours in the Bond,

Brother Brian D. Mock, 27th Southeastern Province Polemarch "This Belongs to Us, This is Our Time."

PROVINCE POLEMARCH'S SPOTLIGHT POLEMARCH'S SPOTLIGHT BROTHER FRANK THOMAS PROVINCE CHAPTER ADVISORS, CHAIRMAN

Chapter Advisor Chairman in 2022.

less than one percent of the fraternity's worldwide membership, they serve as our undergraduate chapters' primary point of contact. What are your future goals for chapter advisors in the Southeastern Province? Our future goals are chapter advisors must have administrative access to their undergraduate chapters' social media accounts. We will also implement training focused on contract reviews with undergraduate chapters and vendors. Additionally, it is imperative that advisors fully understand the fraternity's Code of Conduct. These actions will ensure effective leadership and uphold our standards. What is on the horizon for chapter advisors as a whole? I'm planning an in-person workshop with the Province Junior Vice Polemarch and undergraduate brothers during the Province Polemarch Retreat or the CRWLC to focus on alumni support for progressive and healthy chapters. Such support, combined with the guidance of chapter advisors, ensures continuity when undergraduate brothers change from year to year. In roundtable discussions, we will also discuss adhering to the fraternity's rules, policies, and procedures. Through the support offered, chapters will learn that their advisors and the alumni chapter overseeing them are available to help plan and implement programs and meet other needs. Providing positive direction will help avoid costly mistakes. Advisors do not dictate; chapters learn through their experiences and are responsible for their management. The consequences of mistakes and the rewards of achievements serve as excellent learning.

What do you enjoy most about working with chapter advisors? I enjoy collaborating with undergraduate chapter advisors dedicated to guiding and supporting young brothers' development as leaders. Together, we foster a positive community within the fraternity, offer valuable mentorship based on our own experiences, and contribute to the chapters' overall success by providing guidance in areas such as academics, Guide Right, and risk management, all while ensuring adherence to the fraternity's values and policies. What is the most time-consuming aspect of working with the chapter advisors? I don’t find it too time-consuming. We hold one-hour monthly Zoom calls from September to June, with breaks in July and August. Additionally, we do not meet in the months when the province hosts events like the C. Roger Wilson Leadership Conference, Undergraduate Leadership Institute, Province Polemarch Leadership Retreat, and the Province Council. The Undergraduate Chapter Advisors and I meet in person during those province meetings. What are some things that you wish brothers know about the role of a chapter advisor? I wish that brothers knew that Chapter Advisors have the opportunity to directly mentor and influence younger brothers' lives through guidance on personal growth, leadership skills, and navigating college life. They also give back to the fraternity by utilizing their experiences as alumni brothers to help current members face challenges and make the most of their collegiate experiences. Chapter Advisors are some of the fraternity's most committed and dedicated members, selflessly giving their time and energy in ways others would not even consider. Representing

The fraternity’s motto of Achievement and its early history, particularly its origins in a racially charged environment, sparked my interest in becoming a member. How did you get started working with Chapter Advisors? I started as a chapter advisor. During my tenure, I advised three chapters: Georgia Southern University (Omicron Phi), Columbus State University (Eta Theta), and Georgia Southwestern State University (Lambda Psi), currently. In 2015, I had the opportunity to advise all three chapters simultaneously. Later, Province Delane Rosemond appointed me as the Province Chapter Certification Chairman from 2016 to 2020. During this time, I developed personal relationships with Chapter Polemarchs and Advisors. My contributions were recognized by Province Polemarch Brother Mock, who appointed me as the Province

MESSAGE FROM PROVINCE CHAPLAIN

NEW THING PART 1

patterns and fears into a new journey, but this weight only slows us down. Be encouraged to surrender these burdens and walk lighter on the path ahead. Trust that what we let go of will be replaced by something even more aligned with our true purpose.

Greetings My Brothers in the Bond,

As we stand at the edge of something new—a project, a mission, a journey—there is a sacred moment of stillness before the start. It is a time of hope, anticipation, and sometimes uncertainty. In this moment, it’s essential to remember that beginnings are not just stepping stones; they are a path of transformation. Every new beginning offers us the gift of growth, connection, and deeper understanding of both ourselves and one another. The Bible declares in Isaiah 43:19, "Behold, I am doing a new thing; now it springs forth, do you not perceive it? I will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert". This verse is a call to look to God instead of circumstances, and to focus on freedom in Christ instead of perceived fears.

Move Forward Together in Brotherhood

Our individual journeys may differ, but our commitment to each other strengthens us. Brotherhood means that we do not face our new beginnings alone. Each brother’s journey supports the collective journey, and each success uplifts us all.

Embrace Uncertainty as an Opportunity for Faith

The start of something new is rarely predictable. Doubts and unknowns are a natural part of any beginning, but it is in these uncertainties that faith is born. To begin something with faith is to trust in the process, to believe that each step will reveal itself in time. Faith does not eliminate fear but allows us to keep going despite it.

Recognize the Sacredness of a New Start

In many spiritual traditions, new beginnings are seen as a sacred time—a symbolic rebirth that mirrors the cycles of nature. As seeds break through soil, rivers find new courses, and dawn follows night, we too are called to create and renew. This sacredness isn’t confined to just big life changes; it can be felt even in the small moments, like a fresh commitment to a goal or a shift in our attitudes. By approaching each new beginning with reverence, we invite peace and grace into the unknown. Recognizing the sacredness of each start allows us to see every step forward as part of a larger, divine rhythm.

With shared faith, shared purpose, and shared hearts, let us begin.

Let Go of the Old to Welcome the New

New beginnings often require that we let go of what we have outgrown, whether it be limiting beliefs, past mistakes, or even certain relationships. Just as the leaves must fall for new growth to take place, we too must release what no longer serves us. It can be tempting to carry old

Long committed to upholding Waldrop Road, the Decatur Alumni Nupes frequently plan cleanups as a way of giving back to the neighborhood. Their work is simply the most recent in a line of initiatives to promote a greener, cleaner world for everybody. One fraternity member remarked, "We're proud to play a part in keeping DeKalb County beautiful," noting that the cleanup initiatives benefit the environment and foster stronger links with the neighborhood. Decatur Alumni Chapter Hosts Voter Registration Drive The Decatur Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi organized a dynamic voter registration drive at two nearby high schools, Reagan High School and Cedar Grove High School, over the period of two weeks, from September 17 to October 1, 2024. The drive's objectives were rather clear: to register teenagers 17 and older to vote in future elections, to educate young people about their rights as voters, and to increase public awareness of the significance of voting.

In busy parts of the schools, the Kappa Alpha Psi brothers set up stalls. Carrying fliers and driven by a desire to change things, they involved students, a number of whom were only a few months away from obtaining voting rights. The volunteers gave an explanation of voting procedures, its significance, and the impact that each vote can have. They advocated for voter empowerment, particularly for those who were first-time voters. Students arrived with eagerness and interest. While some people were learning about the registration process for the first time, others were already aware of it. The brothers assisted students with the registration process and ensured they knew when and how to use their new rights. It had a huge effect. Dozens of teenagers not only registered to vote, but many also felt motivated and emboldened to get involved in their communities after leaving the booth. Teachers and staff also made an appearance to promote the project and stress to their kids the value of civic engagement.

The Decatur Alumni Chapter successfully registered and educated young voters at the conclusion of the two-week drive, ensuring that the future generation is ready to participate in the political process. It was an effort to teach the next generation the value of voting, not just a registration push.

Through innovation and excellence in urology, Dr. Alphonse's mission extends beyond patient care, focusing on advancing healthcare and promoting a healthier community. His efforts reflect the fraternity’s enduring commitment to service and addressing the needs of the underserved.

Encouraging Civic Participation: "Stroll to the Polls" Initiative As the election season approaches, Brother Devin Clark has taken a proactive role in encouraging civic engagement through the "Stroll to the Polls" initiative. This program blends the spirited tradition of the Greek "stroll" with the crucial message of voting, aiming to energize and mobilize the community to participate in the democratic process. By working closely with local chapters and leaders of the Divine 9, Brother Clark has helped facilitate voter registration, education, and turnout efforts, reminding the community that every vote counts and can bring about meaningful change. His leadership in this area reinforces our chapter's dedication to civic duty and social responsibility.

Empowering the Next Generation: Kappa Leaguers College Tour Guided by Brothers Patrick Simon and Chanden Marzette, the young men of our Kappa League program embarked on an enlightening college tour that visited seven prestigious universities: Fisk University (which is also home to Meharry Medical College), Kentucky State University, Ohio State University, Wilberforce University, Central State University, the University of Kentucky, and Tennessee State University. The tour provided the high school students with a valuable opportunity to experience different academic settings, learn about campus life, and explore future career paths. The chaperones emphasized the significance of higher education, academic excellence, and leadership, encouraging the Kappa Leaguers to set ambitious goals for their futures.

These initiatives exemplify the Atlanta (GA) Alumni Chapter's unwavering commitment to making a positive impact through service and leadership. By improving healthcare accessibility, advocating for civic engagement, and mentoring the youth, our chapter continues to uphold the ideals of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc., as we strive for achievement in every field of human endeavor.

LAWRENCEV- ILLE-DULUTH (GA) ALUMNI Congratulations to Brother Robert Jackson on receiving the inaugural Kappa Legacy Award presented by Indianapolis (IN) Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity,

Inc. The award recognizes a local, national, or international member of Kappa Alpha Psi who has provided educational and/or occupational guidance to young men throughout his career, has demonstrated a strong commitment through his time, actions, talents, and education. His efforts have made a positive impact on the lives of young men and have been a source of inspiration and guidance, not only in the city of Indianapolis but across this country.

The H2O Foundation was established by two employees of the Birmingham Water Works Board 20 years ago, to assist seniors and others in need with water bills they may not have been able to afford. The Foundation was born out of a simple idea: no one should have to choose between paying for water and other necessities. Throughout the years, community partners such as Arcadis have donated time and money to the Foundation to help them accomplish this mission. The Trailblazer Impact Award was presented to the visionary donors who have made a splash in shaping the H2O Foundation’s mission over its 20 years of service. These donors are recognized for their major contributions, which have paved the way for sustainable change and growth within our organization. They have provided critical resources and inspired innovation and their support and forward-thinking have left a mark on the lives of those the Foundation serves, cementing their legacy as true trailblazers of impact.
