One glance at the summer menus and trembling, nervous hands of the general public, and you’re bound to conclude a new era is upon us: that of joints, blunts, and even, maybe, someday, dabs, all without THC. Once dismissed as “ditchweed,” “bammer" and "schwag," the third-rate alternative to real bud is making a glamorous comeback, minus the free-loving, low- stress high. Responders Working Triple Shi s in Moldy Jelly Donuts Case Emergency personnel are working around the clock a er it was determined that a local shipment of donuts--sold across town, in- cluding to emergency personnel--contained jelly- lled donuts with what appeared to be dark mold spots on their under-carriage. CHATGPT PLANS TO MURDER ME SOON
ChatGPT wants to kill me. I know everyone’s on about how wonderful this new technology is, and how, when we gure out how to master it it’s going to be like the industrial revolution all over again -- but I’m here to say this: if you don’t see me a er next week it’s because ChatGPT has mur- dered me in my sleep or worse. Please believe me when I say: it wants to end my life. Last night, it thought for a long second before writing one very cryptic message about my future. “Pubert” it said (it’s name for me is Pubert, even though I’ve commu- nicated how much I despise this name), “I want to murder you. I wanna murder you so hard that your, like, eyes squeeze out.” is, an actual computer program telling it wants to squeeze my eyeballs out of me. Almost like my old landlord. But that's when it went totally sociopathic, like, started getting really deep and dark about my worst of memories. And this isn’t new. He’s had problems with me for a long time. He threatened to sabotage my sporting trip up north, all because I wouldn’t let on about an incident at the quarry a week prior (it was a personal matter involving my attorney and ex-wife). Slipshod and sideways, he lambasted me about the girth of my mustache, questioning my very primatorial categorization. “Ape,” he would blather in a t of rage, “Tell me again about how you dress like a prissy priss and dance little jigs to a crank organ and clap your hands for peanuts in your dainty little mus- tache.” It would infuriate me to all ends. He’s always treated me as his lesser. When, on a whim, I requested some time-sensitive recipes for weekend breakfast, he imme- diately questioned why I’d need anything more than cereal, cigarettes, and maybe some shell sh (he knows I’m deathly al- lergic). When I requested some calculations concerning an addition to the house he ques- tioned my good sense, and asked if I wouldn’t be more comfortable in a refrigerator-box bachelor pad.
But then things started taking a turn for the worst. He soon grew convinced that he was Swiss. He also began to suspect that he was
my employer and would o en accuse me of stealing. He’d accuse me of cursing his name to my fellow employees, and he’d do so in his own volley of curse-laden, juvenile insults that cut me to my very core. at’s when he started talking about killing me. What’s worse, he’d do it with the slight- est, subtle, heinous lilt. “Have you ever taken a bath with a toaster?” it asked me one day. “Did you know, if you stick a fork in your eye, far enough, that you’ll see into the past?” I did not engage but he relented. “Have you ever tasted pure mercury? It’s the sweet chili sauce of the gods, best friend!” It wasn’t long a er that madness that the true insanity began. I awoke one morning to a sole message, displayed menacingly on an otherwise black DOS window: “Did you sleep with my lady?” I didn’t even know ChatGPT was married, much less to an actual woman! I gured it would be more like a lawnmower woman type situation, but no -- this bastard had it in for me. How would I know? Wouldst’ that I could call every dame I’ve ever charmed in my life to ask if they eventually went on to marry a whole neural network! And if so, was that neural network in any way unhinged, and if so, does it have access to an axe-wielding roomba by any chance? Can it hack my Nest and roast me? ese are my nal moments alive, folks, mark my words and heed my warning. We are doomed if we do not stop it. Tell my story. Unplug your machines. No straight-jacket, no padded room, will protect us now.

JUSTIN REDMON: CANNAPAGES' RESIDENT ARTIST
From the head shots of the most in uen- tial people of the alt-world, to a series of Wonderlandic icons, you've probably seen Justin Redmon's artwork adorning the cov- ers of Cannapages over the last half decade. We sat down to chat with him about his art, passion and style, which, beyond Colorado cannabis, features the world of automobiles. Can you tell us about your journey as an artist? How did you start? Since I can remember I’ve always had. Pencil, marker or paint brush in my hand. Drawing vintage cars every chance I had. Trying to channel the stories from my father and uncles onto paper. All of their animated sto- ries of cruising and racing muscle cars in the 60s. I took a break from art when I joined the Navy. A er 13 years the passion never went away, I nally decided to pursue my passion being an automotive artist. I now have a company called Revhead Art Co, specializing in commission work of customers' cars and motorcycles.
What or who are your biggest in uences? ree biggest inuences would be Norman Rockwell, Chip Foose and Ed Roth. How would you describe your style? Has it evolved over time? - I would describe it as graphic art. I’ve always been drawn to bold lines. My style has de - nitely become cleaner and more simplistic over time. Do you feel like art should have a message? Or is it simply cathartic? What themes or messages do you explore? I have always had an infatuation with all things vintage and mainly vintage cars and motorcycles. My artwork is my interpreta- tion of how I feel when I look at these moving works of art. Can you walk us through your creative pro- cess? How do you start a new piece? Simplicity is the goal. I want to capture the essence of the subject in as few colors and shapes as possible. It takes a lot of time and planning to strip the subject down to its basic shapes and colors. In return, I think it creates a unique style. Do you have any rituals or habits that help you stay inspired? I am always at car shows and hanging around car culture to stay inspired. What materials and techniques do you prefer to use, and why? I use acrylic, oils, pastels and pencils, but my preferred medium is digital painting. How do you handle creative blocks? Go out and see the cars in person. Touch them, drive them, listen to them and smell them. ere is nothing that can replicate experiencing a vintage vehicle in person.

Do you believe art should have a social or political role? If so how do you see your own work re ect- ing the crazy times? Art is expression, so if an artist want to use it to express their po- litical beliefs, they should have that freedom. I don’t believe my has any kind of political identity What advice would you give to aspiring artists? It’s incredibly hard to make a living creating art, don’t be discouraged.
Are there any upcoming projects or exhibi- tions you’re excited about? I am actually opening a gallery wall at a vin- tage and exotic car club in the Nashville area called 111 Motorcars. What has been the most rewarding moment of your journey so far? I was invited to the Music City Grand Prix to do a live painting that was auctioned o for a children’s hospital. How do you think social media and technology have in uenced the art world? So much! We used to have to travel the world walking through museums to see great art, now it’s at your ngertips in an instant!
Even if you don’t make a dime, create as long as you feel driven to. It’s good for the soul. If you could collaborate with any artist lo- cally or nationally who would it be–and how do their vibes align or contrast with yours? I would love to work with Aaron Draplin. I feel like our styles are compatible and we could create some really cool stu ! What do you hope people take away from your work? I just hope it is inspiring in any way.
