One glance at the summer menus and trembling, nervous hands of the general public, and you’re bound to conclude a new era is upon us: that of joints, blunts, and even, maybe, someday, dabs, all without THC. Once dismissed as “ditchweed,” “bammer" and "schwag," the third-rate alternative to real bud is making a glamorous comeback, minus the free-loving, low- stress high. Mock joints aren’t just a fad. ey’re fashionable, a statement, kind of like champagne, or the adrenaline rush one might get from a slap in the face. “ e world has shi ed to- wards mindfulness” says Bev Stein, whose establishment catered to the crowd well before its popularity. “Long time weed lovers still want to feel the tough pull of smoke through their lungs, but they don’t all want the relaxing, refreshing vibes that come with.” Stein's business has likewise striven to make the mock joints "new" by adding things like sage, lemongrass, pine, and other amenities that might add similar terpenes to the smoke.
