THE K I N G ' S BUS I NES S
“ Letting go is twice possessing. Would you double every blessing? Pass it on.” “Ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon y ou ; and ye shall be witnesses unto me , . . unto the utter most part o f the earth.” Perhaps this is the secret o f our poverty—that we have tried to hoard our blessing, and let the world perish through our selfishness. “ Freely ye have received; freely give.” —A. B. S im p so n . We have here a command, a promise, and a privilege. The command is God’s direction as to what we are to do in the day o f trouble. “ Call upon me.” He bids us bring to Him our burden and cast it upon Him. To call upon Him is to suppli cate His succor, to throw ourselves upon Him, for strength, or comfort, or deliver ance, as the case may be. The day o f trouble may be present with you now. It may be a time of deep sorrow, or perplex ity, or difficulty. If so, it is the very day God has named for you to apply to Him for deliverance. Turn your trouble into prayer, and put God to the test. Then, there is the promise to encourage our ex pectation, and to strengthen our faith: “I will deliver thee.” It is for us to pray and trust; it is for Him to fulfill His own promise. Deliverance is His work. W e may confidently rely upon Him to do it. “ Faithful is he that calleth you, who also will do it” (1 Thess. 5:24). What a privi lege it is to trust God ¡— S elected . JULY IS The Clock’s Command "I must work the works of him that sent me” (John 9 :4 ). When Temple Hall, London, was built,

“ We have read every page with relish and can set our seal to its closing sentence: ‘Those who in all sincerity desire independent proof of the correctness of Christ’s attitude to the Old Testament will welcome the new knowledge that archaeology is giving us.’ Highly valuable because of the plain manner in which the data are set forth, challenging the interest of the average man. The text contains proof of the original monotheism and the use of the Old Testament names for God long before the days of Moses. Proof of the Flood, of the dispersion after the Flood, of the supremacy of Shem, and the subservience of Canaan are also presented.” Handsome Cloth Binding, $2 .00
