THE ROLE

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE • Previous experience in a similar role; the education sector would be an advantage but is not an essential requirement. • Collaborative and able to work effectively with multiple stakeholders with varied priorities and requirements. • Excellent understanding of customer service and the ability to deliver a customer-focused service at all times. • Able to demonstrate commercial acumen, diplomacy and negotiation skills. • An understanding of the importance of the academic requirements of an independent school and an abili- ty to balance these in relation to the needs of lettings. • Very high standards with an eye for detail. • Able to communicate assertively and persuasively both orally and in writing. • Ability to produce and interpret relevant financial information; including the preparation of effective budgets and monitoring income & expenditures against them. • Effective procurement and contract negotiating skills and experience. • Effective leadership skills; able to establish an appropriate and independent working relationship with a range of staff and third parties. • Proven management skills with experience of working with a diverse team and working to deadlines. • Appropriate IT skills including competency in Microsoft Office. QUALIFICATIONS • Relevant qualification which may include Hotel or Event Management, or similar. • Personal license holder (training available). • Evidence of continuing professional development or training in a relevant area CONDITIONS OF SERVICE Working hours are flexible 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, in accordance with the needs of the role. Occasional Saturday, Sunday and evening work is required to meet the needs of School events and the lettings programme. Holiday entitlement is 5 weeks in addition to bank holidays which are taken during the pupil holidays. Meals are provided whilst on duty. Support staff are automatically enrolled in a stakeholder pension scheme with an upper employer’s contribution of 10%. Staff are eligible to use the School sports centre, pool and fitness suite for a nominal annual fee. CHILD PROTECTION The post-holder’s responsibility for promoting and safeguarding the welfare of children and young persons for whom s/he is responsible, or with whom s/he comes into contact, will be to adhere to and ensure compliance with the School’s child protection policies at all times. If in the course of carrying out the duties of the post the post-holder becomes aware of any actual or potential risks to the safety or welfare of children in the School s/he must report any concerns to the School’s Designated Safeguarding Lead.
