The volumes were published by The University of the West Indies Press (UWIPRESS) and edited by Professor Emeritus Andrew Downes, Professor Emeritus Compton Bourne, Sir Alister’s son Dr. Arnold McIntyre, and former Director in The UWI’s Office of the Vice-Chancellor Rosalie O’Meally. They were launched at a ceremony hosted by Cave Hill Campus on 30 June 2022. For his outstanding service, he received numerous awards and recognitions, including a knighthood from the Queen of England in 1992, national honours in Guyana and Jamaica, and the Order of the Caribbean Community. Prime Minister of Barbados The Honourable Mia Amor Mottley said she counted herself lucky for having worked as a former Minister of Education with Sir Alister when he served as Vice-Chancellor of The UWI.
