He identified key aspects of Sir Alister’s philosophy that remain key pillars for the CDB, among them regional integration, trends and challenges associated with the future of Caribbean development and knowledge- based economies. Dr. Leon said the positions and prescriptions articulated in Sir Alister’s writings provide ample guidance, as they draw from the vast body of knowledge to fashion solutions for current and future challenges. The publications were given a thorough review by Dr. Shelton Nicholls, Senior Advisor to the
President of the CDB. He prefaced his analysis by noting: “Collective works of this nature that chart the professional development, management journey and contributions of great intellectuals and administrators in our region ought to be more commonplace in our Caribbean space since they not only offer perspectives on how our societies have evolved but, more importantly, provide lessons for the future growth and development of the region. Indeed, retrospection and prospection constitute integral aspects of the process of sustainable development.” l
