Sir Henry Unveils Autobiography

T he former senator, Clinical Skills Complex, Errol Walrond Building last May. The hybrid event (in- person and online) hosted by the Faculty of Medical Sciences was billed as a celebration of Sir Henry’s life and tapestry and included several persons who shared anecdotes and spoke glowingly of him. Among them were Pro Vice- longstanding university public orator and architectural historian was highly acclaimed at the book launch held at Cave Hill campus’s Chancellor and Principal of the Cave Hill Campus Professor Clive Landis; Dean of the Faculty of Medical Sciences, Dr. Peter Adams; Professor Emeritus Pedro Welch; and Dr. Kenneth Connell, Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Medical Sciences. Noted academic, prolific researcher and renowned polymath Professor Emeritus Sir Henry Fraser has shared aspects of his storied life in one of his latest publications, an autobiography entitled A Life in Medicine & The Arts. .

Jamaica, the latter of whom shares 55 years of friendship with Sir Henry. Professor Figueroa described the autobiography as a gem, saying that there was more to Sir Henry than revealed in the book, and added: “I am looking forward to another autobiography because he has much more to tell.” During his on-stage interaction with Dr. Kenneth Connell who chaired the ceremony, Sir Henry said he was humbled by the glowing tributes. “I’ve had a very amazing life and people have asked me why I took the trouble to write this. [They have asked] '... is this some kind of self-promotion?' Not really, because I write. I’ve written from the time I was four years old … and I enjoy writing,” the retired dean of the Faculty of Medical Sciences said. Sir Henry has written more than a dozen books, including the recently launched Did You Know? People, Places and Untold Stories of Historic Barbados . l
