Law and Health Research Unit Off to a Dynamic Start

T he unit has staged several successful training activities, including through collaborations with within and outside the region. Key among these activities were two short courses on Introduction to Global Health Law and Introduction of Non- Communicable Diseases and the Law that were offered in partnership with the Global Center for Legal Innovation on Food Environments , an initiative of the O’Neill Institute for National and Global Health Law at Georgetown University . The courses attracted participants from the Caribbean Public Health Agency , the Caribbean Development Bank , the OECS Commission , regional law schools and regional attorneys, among others. The unit and the Global Center for Legal Innovation on Food Environments are also working on a joint special issue of the Caribbean Law Review on Unhealthy Food, Alcohol, Tobacco and the Law that is expected to be published in the Spring/ Summer 2023 edition and will be co-edited by Foster, and Isabel Barbosa of O’Neill
