AUGUST 2024
BACK-TO-SCHOOL SEASON Embrace New Adventures and Lifelong Lessons
Summer flew by, and now it's time to gear up for fall — it’s back- to-school season! As we transition from the warmth of the summer months into the rhythm of the 2024–2025 school year, it's important for both parents and students to take a moment to reflect on this past summer's experiences and plan for future adventures. While it’s normal to focus on schedules, routines, coursework, and grades, it’s equally important, even for our youngest learners, to let go of the stress of academics and remember that experiences are what truly matter. Now, more than ever, kids are stressed out about keeping up with the newest curriculums, getting the highest grades, balancing tons of extracurricular activities, and showing off their knowledge. But I urge everyone to also focus on the new events and activities coming in the next few months. What new skills, games, activities, and lessons will your child explore? What memories will they create this year? What new opportunities will your family encounter during this school year? Don’t get me wrong; I’m not saying studies and grades don’t matter because they certainly do, but I strongly believe the experiences trump all.
While your degree can help you land your first job, we look for both personal and professional experiences when hiring at our firm. For example, those who have traveled and gained a broader perspective on the world have an advantage over those who have only attended law school without exploring beyond it. Too often, people graduate with a law degree only to discover that they don't enjoy the job. They find themselves four or five years into their career feeling miserable and dreading going to work every day. My advice to those heading to another year of college, high school, or even grade school is to focus on who they are and the experiences they pursue. The key is to ensure the career you choose will bring you happiness, as everything flows from that. When you’re happy and genuinely passionate about your work, especially in the field of law, it’s reflected in how you treat clients, handle cases, and collaborate with your team. Passion for the job is essential.
Happiness comes first, and it all starts with focusing on the experiences that matter most!
Last year, I had the opportunity to speak to students at my alma mater, Santa Clara University, who were interested in becoming lawyers. I emphasized that the places they visit, the people they interact with, and the events they encounter help shape who they are today and are more important than anything else. They are more than what major they choose, the courses they take, or the tests they pass. This wasn't meant to undermine the importance of education, but I truly believe that engaging in activities and creating meaningful experiences is the key.
Happiness comes first, and it all starts with focusing on the experiences that matter most! Happy 2024-2025 school year!

INTERACTIVE MARKETING Connecting With Audiences in a New Way
In marketing, we find two forms of content: passive and interactive. Passive content is a form of advertising that does not require anything of the viewer, like a sign, an ad, or a television commercial — many traditional forms of marketing are decidedly passive. Interactive content, however, demands something of the viewer and, in turn, draws further engagement from them. If you want to learn more about this type of marketing, then read on about what interactive marketing is and how you can use it to strengthen your brand. Components of Interactive Content If your marketing efforts included polls, contests, assessments, quizzes, games, or interactive e-books, they were interactive. While most marketing revolves around one-way communication with the viewing audience, interactive content requires some reciprocation. Not only does this content increase engagement, but you can also leverage it to gather valuable data about
your customer base and increase brand engagement simultaneously. The Interactive Impetus Interactive content is becoming more prevalent, especially among larger corporations. An astounding 87% of marketers agree that it increases engagement compared to passive content. As of this year, 62.3% of companies are utilizing some form of interactive content in their marketing campaigns, an increase of more than 16%. Serious Engagement According to a study by the Content Marketing Institute, 60% of content marketers listed “producing engaging content” as a top challenge. That problem has an answer: interactive content. With the high numbers of people who use their cellphones daily, interactive marketing is more accessible and prolific than ever before. A survey by Inc.com rates
interactive content as 93% effective as opposed to static content, which ranks at 70%. More than just a tool for advertisement, interactive content can also educate potential customers about your product or service. And those who engage with your content are more likely to appreciate its message, which improves your brand's strength. Creating interactive content can help reshape your engagement levels and give you a stronger brand and a more loyal audience.

The Case Barnett Law Difference PUTTING FAMILY AT THE HEART OF LEGAL SERVICES At Case Barnett Law, we pride ourselves on being a family-centric firm. We understand the role that family bonds play in our lives — family is everything and always comes first. Thus, we recognize the profound impact that personal injury cases can have on entire families. This is especially true when children are involved, which is why we prioritize standing up for their rights and ensuring they receive the justice they deserve. We handle many cases involving minors, a niche many other law firms tend to avoid. This reluctance often stems from the complexities involved in these cases, such as the requirement for court approval of settlements and the fact that fees are often reduced compared to those for adult cases. While it is a significant amount of work, we embrace these challenges because family is always our top priority. We witness firsthand the devastating impact injuries to children can have on families, and we are committed to making a difference. We are proud to say our team is efficient in managing these sensitive cases, and they approach each one with care and dedication. We take the time to understand the unique needs of each family and child we represent. We make sure that each step we take aligns with their best interests. Our compassionate approach helps to ease the burden on families during these challenging times and provides them with the support they need while navigating the legal process. Our dedication to family values and our commitment to justice drive us to deliver the highest quality legal representation, which makes an impact on the lives of those we serve.
