Patrick & Theresa Sanchez began raising Registered Angus cattle over 18 years ago, and have been performance testing bulls at the Tucumcari Bull Test for the past 16 years. We have been blessed to have the top indexing bull in 2011 and 2015, and have had many in the top ten over the years. Our 4 registered bulls on test after 67 days are gaining an average of 4.11 per day, average ratio of 111.4, which is the highest average of any breeder testing.
The goal of Sanchez Angus, as a seedstock producer, is to raise cattle that are genetically sound, moderately framed, and easy calving. We desire for our cattle to grow rapidly and be fertile, while emphasizing feed-efficiency and carcass merit, yielding tender, high-quality beef. We are dedicated to continuing the development of cattle that will thrive in the Southwest climate. Sanchez Angus has been blessed with the success of the cattle it has raised. We give thanks to past, present, and future buyers. 7-1 is a AI son of Poss Rawhide, one of the top 10 sires used in the Angus breed in 2024. At the midway point of the test, 7-1 weighs 1,063, is gaining 4.22 (rto of 114.4) and WDA is 3.25 (rto 101.9), and his feed conversion is above average (ratio of 102.2). He is out of a first calf heifer. 7-2 thru 7-4 are sons of J-C Treasure 2183, one of the top performing sires from J-C Angus in the 21-22 test, He had a 61# BW and was the third high gaining bull on test at 4.67, ratio 116.5 and converted 4.27 lbs of feed per lb of gain, ratio of 113.7. He scanned a 7.71% IMF and a 15.3 Ribeye. He is extremely easy calving and moderate in size and milk. The 3 sons I have on test this year is the high gaining sire group over all breeds at the midway point of the test, gaining 4.07 average (rto 114.2). The 7-4 bull is currently the 7th high gaining Angus bull on test at 4.64 (rto 125.9) and is out of a really attractive first calf Crawford Guarantee daughter.
