K-4 Cattle has made quite the change in the last year. I guess you could say Laurie and I have retired. Or you could say the drought finally got the best of us. Whichever it may be, we are now living in Green Country, Chelsea, Oklahoma. We are about 36 miles Northeast of Tulsa, 6 hours from where we both grew up. Looking at the landscape one would think we are lightyears away. It has been a dream of ours to someday live in a place where we didn’t have to pray for rain every single day. That dream became a reality in May of 2023. Making the move with us was 40 head of our best Salers cows. We plan on focusing on the Salers breed of cattle even more in the coming years. With little else to do, we will be searching the Country far and wide for only the best the breed has to offer. Salers cows are without a doubt the most problem free in this Country. They are called the balanced breed for a reason. Rugged, good footed, easy breeding, easy calving, great milkers, highly adaptable, great for cross breading, and believe it or not, very docile.
