Tucumcari Bull Test - Annual Bull Sale [3/8/25]

Richburg Angus

Danny Richburg Amarillo, TX 806-570-0406

Richburg Angus believes the Angus cow is the most incredible creature God made next to man. With drought cycles and economic swings, the Angus cow is a rancher’s best bet. Her efficiency, fertility, moderation, and relentless hustle make her a linchpin in maintaining profitability while respecting the land. At Richburg Angus, we raise cows on the Chisolm Trail north of Bowie, Texas and Wheeler County Texas, along the north fork of the Red River. Our cows live on native and bermuda pastures and we select on maternal traits that are important to commercial producers- structure, birth weight, weaning weight, and fertility. If a cow doesn’t breed, she goes to town. If she is ugly, we don’t want her either. We are not breeding for outliers, but for consistency and efficiency. This is the first time we have participated in the Tucumcari Bull Test and are looking forward to learning more about the cows who raised the bulls we put in this year’s sale. We hope we can continue to create more efficient Donna, Georgina, and Talena cows

• A Coleman Charlo 0256 son out of our Talena 1125 heifer we purchased with Cody Drager at the 2022 Olson Land and Cattle and Pohlman Cattle Company sale. We liked her width, depth and dimension and believe she will turn into a fabulous cow. This bull is a result of IVF. Raised by a commercial recip. • Ripper 37B caught our attention due to his muscling and masculinity. He is a Canadian Bull that makes fabulous females. This calf is the result of mating Ripper with Champion Hill Georgina 9113, which we bought in the 2017 at the dispersal sale. Champion Hill 9114 and 9113 are full sisters, so this bull has same pedigree as 22-2. Should throw beautiful heifer calves. IVF calf raised by commercial recip.
