Author’s presentation copy, inscribed on the front endpaper, “For Bruce Walker with kind- est regards from Evelyn Waugh 8th October 1959”. A fine copy. [44537]  £6,500 Bruce Walker was the production manager at Waugh’s publisher Chap- man and Hall during the war, effectively running the department despite not being on the board. “It was he who had seen Put out More Flags, Work Suspended, and Brideshead through the press, and he and Waugh had a comfortable professional relationship...
